It was a felony. That's why they both got 2 years probation and 500 hours community service. The judge said he was limited in what punishments the law would allow given their status as minors and no prior offending, plus he commented that they'd feel guilt all their lives.

I MISS BEING A MINOR...A TENTH OF MY MINOR CRIMES WOULD HAVE BE IN LOCKUP FOR THE REST OF MY ADULT LIFE.
