Discuss Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets

Just got through this film and sheesh and god almighty with these lead actors. I suppose that's what they were literally: LEAD actors. Dehaan and Delivgne showed all the charisma and acting skills of an inanimate block of lead. The movie also fails completely at building DeHaan's character as some kind of a irreplaceable super soldier and DeLivingne's line in the movie "Major Valerian is an irreplaceable asset to this operation" (or something to that effect) just makes you wonder...uhh why is he supposed to be so important. The scene where DeHaan is trying to intimidate or bully Clive Owen's character while DeLivingne's character circles around him in equally convincing and menacing manner comes off comical and was the only laughs I got out of this movie. It doesn't help Clive Owen is a lot taller than these two and it looks Owen could blow in the direction of these two and they would fall over. Hell, since I'm here, why is it thatt those cumbersome and large assault rifle looking weapons the troopers are carrying in the end seem to be completely useless against those K-Pop or K-tron or whatever robots, but Dehaans small peashooter one shots and decimates them into pieces. Wouldn't it make more sense to give one of those to everyone?

It's such a disappointment, the first segment lead me to expect better.
