He looked maybe early to mid 40s, at most, by the end of the film... but Hunnam is 37... 20 years was a bit too much of stretch, perhaps they should have dyed his hair grey more...

I thought they actually did it really well. He looked much older.

he did look older in the scene where he's talking to his son, after his son had just killed that hare... when he was smoking you could see wrinkles around his eyes... but 57 year-olds do tend to look quite old and Hunnam is a good looking guy (no homo) and is still fairly young at 37...

I didn't notice it in the movie and it didn't spoil anything for me, but I took it for granted that the guy married young and had children when young... I thought he was at least a decade younger than what he's supposed to portray...
