In no particular order:

Escapade

Dangerous

Star of Midnight

Captain Blood

Bride of Frankenstein

Curly Top

The Little Colonel

Our Little Girl

The Littlest Rebel

Magnificent Obsession

Besides the various excellent titles you guys have listed above, a couple very enjoyable lesser known - and worth checking out - 1935 films are The Goose and the Gander (Kay Francis, George Brent, Genevieve Tobin, etc.) and Hands Across the Table (Carole Lombard, Fred MacMurray, Ralph Bellamy).

  1. The Bride of Frankenstein
  2. The 39 Steps

I probably prefer Bride of Frankenstein to the first one.

One of the best years for movies, in my opinion. smile

  1. A Tale of Two Cities
  2. If You Could Only Cook
  3. Ah, Wilderness!
  4. Captain Blood
  5. The Bride of Frankenstein
  6. David Copperfield
  7. Ruggles of Red Gap
  8. Crime and Punishment
  9. Mutiny on the Bounty
  10. Mark of the Vampire

Honorable mentions include The Dark Angel and The Devil is a Woman.

Haven't seen many from 1935, but here are my picks:

Mutiny on the Bounty

The 39 Steps

Top Hat

Triumph of the Will

Bride of Frankenstein

Broadway Meloday of 1936

Roberta

A Night at the Opera

Anna Karenina

Mark of the Vampire

Oh dear, that's one I totally forgot about! Anna Karenina is most certainly an honorable mention, to say the least! Time for a rewatch of that one!

Thank you very much for these great lists, they are great inspiration to see what I've missed. :D
