Discuss Deepwater Horizon

This film has a great setup to the tragic events. But about an hour in, it all kicks off and we are left with an hour of incessant hazard, calamity and death. I don't think anything was gained by a prolonged , bombastic effects laden representation of a real industrial accident in which people died. I quickly found it hard to watch, simply because it was based on real events and real people who lost their lives. I dont want 3D glasses, popcorn, suspense and dramatic sound and vision to 'entertain' me in such a scenario. Was anyone else a little uncomfortable with it or am I being overly sensitive?

As I say, the opening scenes were deftly handled and I think this could have been a great film if only 5mins was spent on the disaster, with the rest on the build up and aftermath (both legal and human).
