Discuss Nymphomaniac: Vol. II

The discussion and attendant cutaways were interesting, but HOW is it an aged virgin man who sat and listened to her tale of woe for what must have been days without even reacting with so much as a flash of a leering smile, suddenly can't control himself at the end of her story? And she shoots him for jerking off? What!?!?!

Its been a long while since I saw this, but what I got out of it is she TRUSTED him, confided in him with her horrible stories...she was vulnerable with him and, sadly, he too turned out to be like every other man. A woman who truly lost her s***!

Of course, that's the thing.

But she seemed pretty desensitized, and it was not like he tried to rape her or anything. I think it's more in keeping with the director's penchant for p!ssing off an audience, haha.

AKA you've done worse, so why not?

Not really a surprise. The director, Lars von Trier, is trying to portray people exactly like you in the character "Seligman".
