Discuss Eastern Promises

this is definitely one of cronenbergs best. my only complaint is that it wasn't long enough. This is the type of movie that I really didn't want to end. a 3 hour godfather like movie would've been great.

I don't think it's one of Cronenberg's best, although I appreciate that he made a film without all of the weird thematic special effects-based stuff that's mostly in his films. I like it, too.

I saw it in a cinema on a big screen the first time, and during the sauna scene, I was a bit distracted by so many shots with Viggo Mortensen's uh, junk clearly displayed in them.

A history of Violence, is another Cronenberg - Mortensen epic. Brilliant film!

It might be my favourite Cronenberg film... I love the setting, the way the story unfolds slowly as we get a picture of the city and these particular characters... Great acting! So many heavy hitters...

film is unflinching and uncomfortable at times... but handled so well...

Steven Knight wrote this... check out some of his films... he's solid...

awesome, thanks! I will look into other movies he has written

Yes I agree, this film being 12 years old now....it still pops in my mind alot and I still get the urge to re-watch it every once in a while.

OFTEN MENTIONED SEQUEL IS SUPPOSED TO BE IN PRODUCTION RIGHT NOW I BELIEVE.

Sorry for the late reply. A sequel to Eastern Promises? Sounds exciting! I imagine that the baby will have grown up and seeking some kind of revenge maybe? Viggo M must be getting pretty old now...I wonder if HE will be in it.....
