Rising from Ashes es un documental que narra el encuentro de dos mundos, cuando la leyenda del ciclismo Jock Boyer se muda a Ruanda, África, para ayudar a un grupo de sobrevivientes del genocidio a lograr su sueño, el de tener un equipo nacional propio. En un viaje a contracorriente tanto Jock como el equipo encuentran un nuevo propósito que es el renacer de las cenizas del pasado. La bicicleta se convierte así en una herramienta que ayuda a resurgir toda una nación.
