Bonnie Hunt was only 29, while Charles Grodin was nearly twice her age at 56!
It's just kind of crazy because I never even noticed the age gap when I was a kid. I think I just assumed they were both in their 40s. Don't they even mention something in the movie (or maybe the sequel) about going to school together? I've just never seen such a huge age gap before between two characters who are playing the same age.

Right, that really is hard to believe because Bonnie and Charles look really nice and compatible.
How about maybe
"The Sky's the Limit" (1943) features a romantic triangle, starring the lovely
Back in 1943, the stars ages would have turned something like this....
And one year earlier, Miss Leslie would play school-age sweetheart and then wife to James Cagney (same age as Astaire) in "Yankee Doodle Dandy" (1942)
