Love this movie, so dope! I don't remember any of the comic book overlays when I saw it back in the days. Is that something they added on the newer versions? Perhaps on the Blu-Ray release?

Anyways, love the movie and I read in that site that on the re-release in 2005 they added the comic book elements. I actually like it!

Yes, but like all true stories, they always add a little bit of embellishments. Perhaps mythos is not the correct word although many ancient Greek stories would have for example a siren, that with her song would hypnotize the men and lolled them from fighting and moving on with her spell when in real life they were just loose chicks that like to party.
I have a feeling that is similar to what they may be referring to in the movie. Maybe that is when they encounter the island of Lesbos that supposedly had fierce women warriors that had no sexual interest in men like when they run into The Lizzies?
