Not quite as good as good as The Joys Of Jezebel, but still a lot of fun. Aside from the constant nudity, this film has a wonderfully odd soundtrack, full of lounge music and weird theremin noodling. It's also beautifully shot, with brilliant technicolor and creative sets.

The downside is that it spends too much time filming orgies (I can't believe I just said that). Who wants to watch twenty minutes of an undulating orgy pile? Peter Perry Jr. was on a tear in 1969-70 with The Joys of Jezebel, this film and The Secret Sex Lives of Romeo and Juliet. But then, for some reason, he drops off the map until Cycle Vixens eight years later. A shame he couldn't keep this period-piece epic softcore exploitation alive, as I'd like to have seen more.
