Discuss After the Sunset

This movie has everything in it: it's funny, action, thriller, romance. Great ensemble cast. Something for everyone of all ages to enjoy. Most people don't seem to know about it and at the time in cinemas it wasn't on for long. It is a real gem ๐Ÿ’Žof a film!

Have never understood the Salma Hayek attraction is it her accent?

It's her face and body.

Average at best she seems nice for actors to work with but have just never found her that attractive since the Dusk movie.

Where do you live? I'm moving there if Salma is "average at best"!

I had the thrill of working with Salma on the set of a different movie. She is not only gorgeous but a very fun, friendly & entertaining person. During a lull in the shoot she treated us all to an impromptu tango... a helluva dancer. She's one of the few celebrities who deserves stardom.

If you can't find a woman as attractive as Salma apparently is then your best bet is the Vatican for an exorcism.

I'm happily married, but have worked in mainly female environments most of my working life and all of my married/"spoken for" life. I might have been led astray had women who looked as good as Salma been the average.

You seem to have to issues with someone calling her average you do know that's being polite right?

If you're being polite about her looks and intimating that she's below-average attractiveness, then you really https://d3bzyjrsc4233l.cloudfront.net/news/Lost_Ladder_specsavers_camden.jpg

I remember Salma dancing the tango in the film "Frida (2002)". Bravo!

I just watched this last night. Silly fun that started predictably but then became quite a tense โ€” though still fun โ€” cat-and-mouse caper. I will say, though, that Burdett's dilemma is one that I had to resolve in my teen years, coming to terms with being a successful small-time scam artist who had to choose what kind of life I wanted to live and walking away before getting caught. I realized I was heading down a path whose final destination was either prison or death, and did not like those odds. Burdett's final decision could have โ€” should have โ€” been made before this last job; that he couldn't walk away here suggests he never could. I was watching it thinking "you made that last score, barely got away with it, have all the money in the world, a gorgeous, devoted woman who wants nothing more than to enjoy sunsets with you, damn straight you should walk away from the life clean."

As for Salma, yep, all reports I've heard say she's truly a gem.

As for you, working on an A-list movie set...? You're an insider? Given your encyclopedic knowledge of movies, I'm not surprised! Respect!

Once a rogue always a rogue? It's interesting that you managed to break from that lifestyle--you're one of the few. Your escape would make for a great screenplay if you get around to it! A lot of films hit on the subject, like the excellent Heat, or how about Godfather III "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!"

But a film about a crook who manages to quit before the last big heist, that would be a novel concept.

Thanks! That was definitely one of the highlights of my modest career. Most of my work has been on micro budget indie productions and mercifully-forgettable tv fluff. But at least, with the Salma gig, I can say I'm a contestant in 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon ;)
