Well done, but an open unanswered ending, and just an overall depressing movie, good to see once, but would you really want to sit through this again, knowing nothing gets solved?

I get where you're coming from, it was both depressing and infuriating at the same time due to how the community and his best friends jumped to conclusions immediately. I guess that was the point because we, the viewer, knew he was innocent but had we not known, would we be as sympathetic...i don't know. Was pretty sad though, really good acting be MM.
But going back to the ending... I wasn't entirely sure what it meant; if someone did try to shoot him, that he hasn't been totally forgiven (Theo's son looked suspiciously like he still held something)? Or if it was all in his mind that he subconsciously doesn't believe he's been fully forgiven despite normality returning with him and his mates?

Ya I'm sure it was Theo or another community member that shot at him, but this movie sticks hard to just that one subject of guilt or innocence, I feel great movies at least have other situations and plots to be captivating, this was good for one viewing IMHO

Good for one viewing is good enough for me. I thought the ending was appropriate. A reminder that mud sticks, and the "mob" will never treat you the same once they have made their uninformed judgement. A fairly unique take on some challenging subject matter.

Are you trying to bash European movies?
