Nel 1923, Cecil B. DeMille esordisce nel filone biblico con la versione muta dei "Dieci Comandamenti", con Theodore Roberts nel ruolo di Mosè e Charles de Rochefort in quello di Ramses. Rispetto al remake del 1956, l'edizione originale ha una seconda parte di ambientazione contemporanea di non grande interesse mentre tutta la parte storica è sorprendente. La storiaè quella tradizionale: Mosè chiede al faraone di liberare gli ebrei ma lui non accetta. Vengono mandate dunque sull'Egitto le famose piaghe, fino a quando Ramses non sarà costretto ad accettare la proposta del profeta. Inseguito dall'esercito del faraone, Mosè apre le acque del Mar Rosso e le attraversa col suo popolo, richiudendole poi sull'esercito egiziano e distruggendo l'armata. Giunto sul Sinai il profeta riceve poi i dieci comandamenti mentre, a valle, gli ebrei adorano un idolo d'oro. Mosè, sceso dal Sinai, punisce gli idolatri...

Vanheden and Dynamit-Harry, together with Harry's fiancée Doris, are in Mallorca while Sickan is still in Stockholm. However, Wall-Enberg talks him into doing a break-in at Las Palmas cathedral in Mallorca. Once persuaded, he can't resist the temptation and travels to Mallorca as well. However, Wall-Enberg obviously can't be trusted. Sickan is framed, caught and put in jail. While being escorted home to Sweden again, Vanheden and Harry sets up a plan to break him free. Sickan, once free, wants payback. The gang discover that an antiques dealer called Germann has something to do with the whole thing and that she's also collaborating with Wall-Enberg. The gang then decide to take a closer look at her and her antiques and they discover that there's a heist being planned against the cathedral in Palma.

Wittelsberg abbandona ben presto l'opera mentre Peters resiste pur sempre avvolto dalla contrarietà dei locali. L'astronomo verrà persino invitato a modificare il tracciato dell'orologio solare, perché, ma si scoprirà solo dopo, sarebbe passata proprio sopra l'accesso segreto ad una cripta dove erano sepolti dei notabili locali. Infine vi sarà la riflessione di Peters, che oramai anziano ed a casa nella natia Danimarca si ricorderà dei trascorsi siciliani sempre in dubbio fra la fede cristiana e la ragione della scienza.
