Veríte naivnej a romantickej predstave, že vzťah je rovnocenným partnerstvom? Bohužiaľ, v skutočnosti to tak zvyčajne nie je. V každom vzťahu je vždy jeden, ktorý viac dáva, a druhý, ktorý viac berie. Vzťah je v istom zmysle nekonečné preťahovanie sa o moc, o to, kto bude určovať, kam sa veci budú uberať. Láska je skrátka boj, v ktorom vyhráva ten, kto má rád menej! Presvedčená je o tom aspoň predsedníčka študentskej rady na prestížnej akadémii Šu-čchin a mladá géniuska Mijuki Širogane. Niet teda divu, že je voči dievčaťu, do ktorého je zamilovaný, ostražitý, a hoci tuší, že ani ona mu nie je ľahostajná, nemieni sa k svojej náklonnosti priznať. Veď podľa spomínanej teórie ten, kto sa prvý prizná k svojim citom - prizná, že je zamilovaný - vlastne prehral prvé kolo! Problém je v tom, že Miukiina vyvolená, Kaguya Šinomija, podpredsedníčka študentskej rady a budúca dedička obchodného impéria, síce tiež miluje Miuki, ale má veľmi podobný názor na vzťahy a lásku.
Love Lab is set in Fujisaki Girls Academy, which is known for their school body being composed of very proper students.
