It's nowhere near the calibre of series one of The Killing, or even The Bridge, but it's above average for the genre, and the lead character is pleasantly sympathetic (unlike in many crime shows). The final episodes are eye-rolling at times and some of the twists foreshadowed too clumsily, but it's quite rare to find a show that ticks all the boxes, and this ticks more than enough.

I'd second the recommendation and even preferred this to The Killing (didnt draw me in) or The Bridge (great lead chatacters but overblown and a steep decline in quality after the 1st series). This was largely coherent, had only a couple of overblown moments, steered clear of the crazy bodycounts and absurd coincidences that seem to be required in modern dramas. Really solid and understated acting and a hugely satisfying finale.
