De eerste zes maanden aan de macht
Het is 1933 en Adolf Hitler is de kanselier van Duitsland, maar hij heeft geen absolute macht, want er is nog steeds een democratisch parlement, een staatshoofd en de rechtsstaat. Hitler roept algemene verkiezingen uit om de nazi-vertegenwoordiging te vergroten, maar een brand in het Reichstag-gebouw wordt toegeschreven aan communisten, wat leidde tot duizenden arrestaties van linkse links. Hitler roept vervolgens president Von Hindenburg op om te handelen en er wordt een decreet aangenomen dat de nazi's noodbevoegdheden geeft om de vrijheid van meningsuiting en het recht om te protesteren te verbieden.
