Discuss 77 Sunset Strip

Just checking if anyone has migrated from IMDB. Am I looking in the wrong place, or has no one posted yet?

It looks like you were the first to post on this board. Most of the postings here are on the contemporary movies and television so far, not too much on classics like this show. Hope that will change as more migrate here.

After watching a few episodes on MeTV, I conjured up a deep memory of another 1950's hipster. Kookie reminded me a lot of Snapper Carr from the early issues of the Justice League of America comic book. I just googled Snapper Carr, and his creation was indeed inspired by Gerald Lloyd Kookson III. DC editors Whitney Ellsworth and Julius Schwartz admit they wanted a character like Kookie in their comics to appeal to baby boomers coming of literacy and dime-spending age at the time!

Thats a good uncovery by you regarding Snapper Carr, Lima!

Ahhh, dime-spending age. Loved all the choices we had between comic books, soda pop, baseball cards and a huge assortment of ice cream and candy! Those were the days.

It's been over a year, since the last reply on this thread. Thought I'd try to keep this board active.

Saw your note, and thank you for keeping the board alive.

I wish we had more 77SS fans participating on here.

Thanks John! Good to see you back here!! I agree. Wish more folks watched. Check out my post on the Perry Mason board (TCOT Murderous Mermaid) comparing the "pay scale" of private detectives of the time grin

Excellent, will be sure to check the Mason boards!

There is also https://moviechat.org/, which is not only a live board, but includes a full archive of the imdb board history, also. You can join with your imdb handle, but unfortunately it doesn't hook you up with your prior imdb comments.
