Discuss The Prisoner

I watched every episode of this amazing series!! There is so much to discuss, I don't know where to start.! Even if you decide to watch it and not analyse it at all, it is still entertaining, frustrating, and awe inspiring. But I dare you to not start analysing -- this stuff demands it!! Loved it, and still do. Also, the lovely little place in Wales, Portmeirion, where they filmed it, still exists, and is magical in it's own right..

Thanks for the invitation to post here Maureen from The Avengers board. I was always a big fan of Patrick McGoohan from his days as Secret Agent, as well as from The Prisoner. I first remember seeing him on a Disney show called The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh. He always said he would never make a film his children couldn't watch.

I haven't seen either of his series in over forty years, so I'd be on a steep learning curve here. I know his John Drake series was broadcast in Europe as Danger Man. I've seen theories posted on other (now defunct) discussion boards that The Prisoner was actually a sequel to Secret Agent. What do you think? I recently finished watching Life On Mars and Ashes To Ashes. In another flashback to my youthful TV watching days, I got a Secret Agent>The Prisoner vibe from both. That's why I mention it here.

I like the catch phrase am not a number!

Be seeing you!
