Minato first watched kyudo--Japanese archery--with his mother, where he was enchanted by the sound of the bowstring. When he first arrives at Kazemai High School, everyone expects him to join the kyudo club. But Minato is haunted by a recent tournament failure, and the strange condition that led to it.

After his failure at the kyudo club briefing, Minato flees the school, and ends up encountering a mysterious archer named Masa-san. Though on his guard at first, Masa-san's lighthearted personality slowly helps him to open up.
