"The series will be written and executive produced by Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau, as previously announced, with Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) directing the first episode. Additional episodic directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok). It will be executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer."
So Disney going to make things right? Or we going to get another Solo? I threw up a little when I saw executive produced by Kennedy.

Yeah, KK needs to do the SW franchise a favour and just stay out of anything even remotely involved in the creative process. I have to admit I smiled watching the trailer when I saw Carl Weathers. He'll be playing a baddy - should be interesting.

Whats the gripe with Kennedy? What did I miss?

She took the worlds greatest franchise and ruined it. Something even the prequels weren't able to do. Good news is so far the Mando is looking really good. Just hope they keep it that way.

Oh shoot she produced some SW films? Man I didn't even know I know she did like ET and Jurassic Park etc.
Hey bro do you know if MANDO episode 2 drops tonight at midnight or do we have to wait until like tomorrow evening or something? I know its supposed to come out on Friday right?

Yeah, she fucked up and they are trying to replace her currently. They offered the position to JJ but he turned it down. Anyway I think they release new episodes at 3am EST...at least I think so.

Ye gods that hack JarJar would be even worse. TBH I think the SW movie franchise is beyond saving now, but this TV series might be okay so long as KK and the rest of her SJW PC ghouls can keep their poison out of it. If they just let Favreau do his thing without meddling, they'll have a winner on their hands.

So have you noticed how weird the Mando walks in the show sometimes? People are saying it might be a woman under the mask. If you pay attention in some of the scenes you can tell the actor isnt comfortable walking in the costume or its a woman trying to walk like a man. Not to mention there are no pics of Pedro in the costume anywhere online...like no where.

That is so funny you brought that up because it was one of the first things I noticed. I thought maybe it was a one time thing but it happened again in the second episode. I just came to the conclusion that maybe it was because Pedro is filming in a green screen room with a nice, flat, smooth floor but meanwhile is aware that he's supposed to be walking over rough terrain and it's just freaking him out a bit or something. I'm not sure what Pedro wore in GoT so maybe it is the just a matter of being uncomfortable in the costume but TBH it doesn't really come across that way (at least not to me) it looks more like someone following stage blocking in a stiff manner. As far as it being a woman it is a man's voice when the Mando talks and Pedro is listed in the credits as playing him, so I wouldn't understand a bait and switch. If they want a female Mandalorian why not just present her as female from the start? It's not like they don't exist already in SW lore.

Yeah last night's episode pretty much solidifies that its a male inside there since we hear what a female sounds like from the female saying THIS IS THE WAY!
I don't get why they even hired an established actor since we don't even see any of his facial expressions just pretty much fight moves. They should have just casted a stunt guy to save money since this character doesn't require any kind of acting range at all.

Yeah they could do a Darth Vader where it's one guy in the costume and another guy doing the voice. Who knows, maybe that is what they're doing already, maybe Pedro Pascal is only doing the voice. I had another thought about the strange walking bits - maybe during editing they realized they needed some shots of the Mandalorian walking so they whipped something up using a CGI model and the CGI artists didn't bother making the walk look natural. It's a stretch. But I did notice in the most recent episode they showed a close up of Mando while walking and he appeared to always be keeping his hands very close to his weapons so maybe that's why he can look tense while walking.

True James Earl Jones KILLED IT as the VOICE OVER of Darth Vader! Probably one of the most menacing voice over actors of all time.
I always am a bit confused whenever see JEJ in a soft or even funny role seeing that his voice alone instills so much true fear among 4 generations of SW fans!
I haven't really an opinion on the way Mando walks like you guys mentioned it doesn't really bother me but as great as last week episode was he just seems so superior in terms of his fighting abilities to everyone else. I mean the guy walks into a heavy guarded building with storm troopers galore and takes all of them out one by one all by himself(yes storm troopers are notoriously known for having horrible aim and make for incompetent soldiers but still). Then he kills and escapes from the entire bounty hunter bar and town without a scratch lol.
It also seems he has every kind of "Home Alone" "Inspector Gadget" weapon readily available to get him out of situation. I guess thats ok but it almost tells you that he won't get killed or seriously hurt for this season or probably for the duration of the show.
But back to the topic I do feel they will reveal his face either as a cliff hanger or a ratings boost tactic and it will probably be some big huge surprise of some sort.

I'm not a SW lore expert but I do know that when Mando said his weapons are part of his religion he wasn't kidding, they literally are. Mandalorians apparently see battle as an act of religious worship as instituted by one of their deities, so it only follows that they're going to be very good at it. As for the face reveal, there was that exchange between him and the smithy where she asked him if an enemy had ever managed to remove his helmet - so the writers have made a point of it, which means it's probably going to be part of the plot some time.

Yes. But (until I read the comments above) attributed it to editing.
To me, it appeared as split-second-breaks in his stride. That is, the sort of (jumpy...for lack of a better word) thing you see when you watch old, old newsreels (kind of annoying, really).

Yeah Im glad they ironed it out by episode 3. It was really distracting for me since I pick up on weird things when I watch shows/films. Looking forward to season 2.

Didn't realize it had stopped by E3. Until I read that I would have thought of it as something on the order of product placements. That is, distracting at first; but, you are so into what you are watching that the brain assimilates to the point where it no longer stands out. Truth is, as annoying as I found it, until this Thread I had completely forgotten about it.
At least now I know.
