Discuss I Am the Night

Saw the TV spot a minute ago calling it a Limited Series so it won't be "returning" (unless that's supposed to mean the series is coming). I switched it to "ended" as it was the only option that seemed to match it being a series with a predetermined ending. Am I mistaken with that label or is there somewhere else to make the designation between a returning series and a limited/miniseries?

yeah right !... lately thy all claim that, then they see the ratings are good and then they order m ore seasons. That trend started when Under The Dome aired on CBS. It was supposed to be a 10 episode event, they said. And being a Stephen King novel a lot of viewers tuned in making the ratings go through the roof, upon seeing that CBS then ordered two more seasons, which failed and it got canceled. I think they also did it for Halle Barry's Extanct. and look at Big Little Lies it's coming back with a second season. True Detective, The Purge, Top of The Lake, many more. I hate it when they do that, because I'm prepared to watch them, then all of a sudden I'm stuck there for 3 or more years watching the shows they stretched into a series, I hate their deceit. I think it's become a way for them to test out the series, that way if it gets cancelled they don't lose face because it was just one season. So now my sister and I, when we see them call themselves "limited" on the TV promos, we wonder if it's really worth it, sometimes we just skip it because we don't believe them anymore.

Well... I don't pay to watch this stuff, so more episodes either way is fine with me.
