Discuss Friends from College

The premise is somewhat interesting however the first 5 episodes and I'm not understanding what the writers are doing with the characters. Quick summary, a group of friends from college are all living separate lives after college in NYC, some are successful some are still finding their careers paths some are just working normal jobs ( one gay couple also). The two main characters (Keegan & Annie Parisse ) both married have been carrying out an affair before they were both married and from what I'm gathering, it's been a few years. As the show progresses they're still stumbling around like a pair of teens having sex in public and so on. No way in west hell this sorta behavior would have lasted so without them being exposed yet. I will continue to watch but from what I've seen before it's been a pretty boring series. I can't wait to watch Ozark which starts next week on Netflix.

After all the bad reviews I've seen for this show, I think I'll pass even though I really like the cast.

I finished all 8 today and I can say it was a waste of my time .

Just watched the first 2 episodes. It's better than the reviews suggest, but it's far from great. I like the cast, so I'll most likely finish the season. Glow was great though. I suggest checking out that show.

This is such a weird show - I don't know how to feel about it. Part of me REALLY LIKES IT - I mean, it's challenging. There are some genuinely funny moments and it's very well written. I LOVE Marianne and all her stupid plays and her relationship with her rabbit (now rabbits)... I can't tell how this will play out though. Ethan and Sam are incredibly hard to like. I feel like there are moments where the writers want us to have some sympathy for them (even though they are truly, truly - and self-acknowledged - awful people) like the scene where Sam tells Ethan she's in love with him and Ethan says 'this only works if we never say that - that's the thing we never say' but... yeah. They're just too awful to feel any empathy for. Everything, from Sam's conversations with her therapist (who I hope writes a book) and how they deal with 'killing' Marianne's bunny... they're awful. I also wonder if/how the show would ever be able to continue if their affair ever comes to light? Lisa felt so guilty about banging Nick that she confessed immediately to Ethan - and to be fair, there are far more mitigating circumstances there (the IVF stuff - and how she knows there's something off with Ethan 'why can't you be in this with me' and hating her job while he lives off her, and the suspicion about Sam from the wedding - sheesh) but if Sam and Ethan's stuff ever comes to light - I mean, how can the show ever be funny after that? This couple have been conducting this affair under the noses of their partners (and Lisa thinks Sam is her friend) I mean, my God. It's just so tragically sad and so deeply MEAN - I feel like it would be the nail in the coffin. Too terribly painful and cruel to ever be funny again. I really miss Felix and his observations as an outsider - I feel like the show has been missing him ever since he left (although who can blame him?) and I hope Billy Eichner comes back for season 2. I also hope this is a short Netflix series - that wraps the story up (as much as possible) as quickly as possible without more and more seasons. Yeeesh. Like I said. I don't know how to feel about this show. It's very challenging and complicated. BUT - I do love that about it as well! It's almost like a cross between F*R*I*E*N*D*S and It's Always Sunny in Philly - AWFUL, AWFUL human beings in a super tight friend group stuck in the past. Love to read more about what other people think/feel about this show though? :)
