So, which one is your family member?

watched it in two days and yes it is great. read about it as a nice show to endure the stranger things hangover, but it’s really more than that. dark stands alone as one of the most interesting show I’ve watched recently, and it does handle time travel very well. also, the cinematography is beautiful, the soundtrack is incredible and the cast is overall great.

I've gotten through episode 6 I'm hooked it's so good! I agree on the music it's absolutely perfect! I'm so glad I found this show and I bet when I finish I'll want more it's that good

Probably one of the most unique, outstanding tv series in a couple of years.

I completely agree! I can't wait for s2!

I finished it today, after two days. I have some questions, as usual with these types of stories. And I see a lot of references/influences now. But it never went full homage or copy of an existing show/film/story.

Amazing show! I have not been this intrigued by a show since LOST. Can't wait for S2!

It's okay. It has some really really pants o head stupid parts. The lady banging a married man in the house with her teenage son present. Who the hell would take their 12 year old brother on a trip to find a missing kid's drugs when your father is a cop type? After episode 3 EVERY HAS THEIR OWN INVESTIGATION, and won't tell each other jack shiat. BTW it's common for a 12 year old to have cellphones in Europe, so when the kid went to the past, people would've been like WTF is that. The cheater, the home wrecker, and their victim was supposed to be around the same age in High School, but the guy is clearly 10 years older.

Agreed. This show gives us a different view on time travel. I think Hollywood writers have a tendency toward "group thinking". They certainly borrow themes from each other with regularity, and they don't alter them much. They have the same "air" about them. Perhaps since this show was created outside of Hollywood the writing seems more fresh. So much has been done about time travel already, it is difficult to be completely original. But this show doesn't seem like a remake of anything I've seen; it doesn't really remind me of anything I have seen. It is a more serious treatment of the idea.

I am going to have to rewatch this a few times I think. I may need to print out photos of the characters and print their names on them, including the ones from different time periods.

Hi Top Cat - as Broadchurch is unavailable to me I have started watching this. Only on Episode 3 at present and it is taking some time to get into - it seems just about to start getting interesting so I will persevere.

haha. I just left you a note about it on your previous message. My first time watching season 1 I felt like I needed a scorecard to keep up with the members of the different families. When you are 33 years in the past, the adult you knew is now a young person, and of course looks different too because it is a different actor, not the same one but younger. I had to watch it over again, with my notes, family members and relationships, etc. at hand. It is pretty interesting, if you can stand having to work that hard to keep up with the different people in different times.

I am beginning to watch season 2 now. I won't say any more about the show until you comment about what you have seen, so I don't spoil it for you.

Hello again TC - it's probably easier to continue this discussion on your Broadchurch post so that's what I shall do !!!

Reddit is a lot better for discussing this show. I noticed this site in general doesn't get much traffic

maybe I will check out Reddit. But SB and I are sort of old buddies now and often we get into one on one discussions and enjoy that. Not that we don't welcome others, but I am saying it's fine if it is just the two of us talking about a show.

BTW the official Netflix website for this show is pretty helpful I think. They have revamped it a little. It used to feature photos from each time period for each character. Now it doesn't always show them in all time periods. https://dark.netflix.io But it is still quite useful, helpful for keeping up with the members of the four main families.
