Something about him just doesn't add up for me. I know it's a bit out there, but does anyone else think he might be a spy. I just keep getting this little feeling that he's that white klingon voq in disguise. The female klingon told him that he could help them win the war with a long term plan, but that it would cost him everything. Then the way he happened to be on the klingon prison ship and survive for 7 months and it's been mentioned in passing that he'd gotten over his ordeal very swiftly and returned to normal life. On ds9 there was that storyline where the disgraced cardassian(i think he was called ducat) was altered to appear human under normal scans. Do they have this technology in discovery. I'd be interested in hearing others thoughts on this.

Knixon, where are the Tribbles in Lorca's office (I've only noticed the fortune cookies) and when was Ash in his office? I'm not remembering it . . . . Gooner, your question is very interesting and I have wondered about his immediate interest in Michael, even though I have admired Tilly's open interest in accepting her as a friend, once she faced her fear and realized that Michael is the last person on the ship to fear. During those early episodes after Captain Georgiou's death, Michael was becoming frozen with her personal despair. I think that Lorca's interest in her goes way beyond his need for her talent.
I think that he is interested in her as a person on a broader level because he recognized that she made a prescient, yet very logical, leap in want to fire first on the Klingons to establish credibility with them. Even though she asked Sarek for information, she was only seeking data to back up what she already believed to be the correct course of action.
Even though her two previous mentors recognized many of Michael's talent, I believe the writers are giving us a person with greater depth of reasoning and awareness than they saw in her. This is something that often occurs with people of multiple abilities because leaders can often focus on those gifts and talents that are easily evident and yet ignore other abilities that are not of interest to them. I remember thinking about the inconvenience the replicants brought to the officials in Blade Runner because they wanted to get out of their boxes in order to experience freedom and life. They weren't born criminals. When Michael begged Georgiou to listen to her about the Klingons being in striking range, Georgiou fell back on the rules because she expected the Klingons to follow the rules. One gift that Michael has brought to Lorca is her experience with two major cultures, so she thinks way outside of the boxes.
Although losing Georgiou burned her so badly that she hasn't been an 'officer' in the sense she was before, Lorca is helping her to heal with the different non-threatening work he has assigned. I have been on her side of the issue since the beginning, which is due to the early Klingon-driven episodes in TOS and the later series after the Organians force the initial peace treaty on the Federation and the Klingons.
Dear Commander Kor! I loved the way John Calicos portrayed Kor with such lovely, yet slimy, panache; he was always so sneer-and-hiss-worthy during those too brief years. Does anyone know if Kor will show up in this timeline?

I'm not sure if they've been particularly visible, but they've definitely been audible. And I think commented on by at least one other character, too. But if you think I'm going to re-watch all the episodes to find out exactly when and where, forget it. I ain't no masochist.

No worries. Knixon; I was just curious.
Following the last one for 2017, I will rewatch them before the new episodes and make notes on these kinds of questions that I've been accumulating.
Since I truly enjoy the show for a variety of reasons, I have watched a few of them twice, so it will be interesting to do it in one block.

You may need to crank up the brightness/contrast on your screen and lower the lighting in your viewing room, to see the tribbles. But it isn't difficult to hear them.
