Overview
大卫·豪勒（David Haller），X教授的儿子，很小的时候就被诊断出患有人格分裂+精神分裂症，他一生大部分时间都是在精神病医院出出进进，凡夫俗子的医生却把这看作是病。但实际上他分裂的人格是他的超能力，他的每一重人格都拥有一种能力或特质，因而得名“大群”，他一直在与自己的变异超能力抗争，直到遇到了梦中女孩Syd（Rachel Keller饰），才决定坦然接受真实的自己。当David开始意识到自己的能力和周围人的能力，他发现自己正被一个暗中的政府机构追捕，想要把他培育成武器，同时也有一个慈善组织想要帮助他理解和使用这些能力。
