Discuss Timeless

Has anyone watched the show from Spain that inspired Timeless, called El Ministerio del Tiempo? It's in Spanish with subtitles on Netflix. It took a few minutes for me to get used to relying on the subtitles, but then I was able to enjoy it. This is an excellent series. The acting and the stories and the humor are outstanding. What makes it very interesting is Spain has a much longer history than the United States, so they can go further back in time. I just watched an episode that went back to the 15th Century.

The folks who made Timeless have been accused of and sued for allegations for ripping off this show. There is no debate about it...they absolutely did rip off this show. Some of the details "borrowed" are almost embarrassingly obvious. There have been several situations where I knew how it was going to end up because they used it on Timeless. There are major differences, though. For instance, they don't use a time machine. In fact, they specifically say there are no such things as time machines and one guy even laughs at the idea. They use doors instead...many many many doors. It's cool. The show is great. I strongly suggest checking it out.

The debate has ended; NBC pulled the plug on "Timeless." Now I have one less reason to tune in NBC TV...again. ("Cutting the cord" to the cable TV company is getting closer to reality for this old boob tube viewer.)

I have absolutely no reason whatsoever to watch NBC anymore. "Timeless" was going to be the only show I watched.

I'm slowly getting through "El Ministerio del Tiempo" and enjoying it very much. I like it better than "Timeless."
