Discuss Big Little Lies

I watched this show with my wife. My wife was obsessed with this show. would call her friends after to talk about it and break it down like the Zapruder film after every episode. I clowned on it the entire time as I found it rather hilarious (except for the part of Perry knocking around Celeste) but after the 3rd episode I told my wife "Perry is the one that raped Jane, he is Ziggy's father. Also, the twins gave me a creepy vibe and it made sense that one of them was the one abusing Amabella ( was there a more pretentious name ever given to anyone? fit this show perfectly)

So after I blurted that out my wife said I was just being stupid and if I was going to say just random theories about the show to please stop watching with her..........I can't tell you how pissed she was at me when I was right. All she could do is shake her head, then she had the nerve to tell me that I must have read about that somewhere. It just seemed the obvious. The only thing I got wrong was that I thought Jane was going to kill Perry. that she would shoot him at the gala.

We are only on EP 6 here in the UK but I did guess from Ep 1 that Perry was the rapist and father of Ziggy . It just seemed obvious to me especially with his violent temper. Glad you haven't mentioned who killed him though. :-) I'll look forward to seeing how they find out and then the killing.

Yes, I thought the same thing, then I thought how dumb that plot-line would be. The chances that it was him, had a kid with Jane who is the same age as his kids, then she moves to the same place and go to the same school are so long that it can be considered a pretty big plot hole (and completely un-necessary).

I was very predictable. My husband quit after 3 episodes. I went until the end but I must admit that seeing women behave like teens - except Celeste and Jane - was a little bit annoying.

It's not a plot hole.. It's just way too convenient.

That was partially the point. While the main themes were serious and important, they were also subtly poking fun at the whole "mommy war" phenomenon. Just check out the forums at one of parenting sites like What to Expect , and you'll see that they really weren't that far off in their portrayal of moms competing for "most superior mother." It's pathetic but unfortunately a real thing.
