Vanessa Helsing, a distant relative of the famous vampire hunter Abraham Van Helsing is resurrected, but soon realizes that the world was conquered by vampires. Tya is humanity's last hope to lead people to regain their lost.

In the days leading up to "The Rising," Vanessa is attacked and left for dead by an intruder. When Doc discovers anomalies in Vanessa's bloodwork, Axel and the Marines come to retrieve the body, only to become marooned in the hospital when all hell breaks loose outside the building.

The hospital's power source is damaged, jeopardizing the protective UV lights. Vanessa and Axel head into Seattle to scavenge parts, leaving the others to fight against the vampires amongst themselves.

In a flashback to the Rising, Jack and her archers battle vampires that are taking over the city.
