I don't think so; he's just a bit technophobic and lazy (when it comes to tech). Plus lonely for reasons that I won't go into but are primarily down to him thinking with his "little head".

He's actually a nice guy, but is one of those people who has always had "an eye for the ladies". Unfortunately for him, he was sure that his last marriage was "true love" despite everyone trying to tell him he was going to get taken to the cleaners. So he's now living in a bedsit and scrabbling to make ends meet when he should've been able to take early retirement and still be living fairly well.

Bedsit is fairly common here. There's even an 80s song about living in "bedsit land": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbC4yxjydUc
Won't go into any further details about my friend's financial/romantic problems. Let's leave it by saying he's realising that he should've listened to the advice he was given, has probably irrevocably messed up the rest of his life and that at his age it's too late too rebuild. So kids, remember the old adage: If it seems to good to be true, it probably IS too good to be true.
I'm a bit behind on Westworld. I'm the only one in the house who watches it, so it's hard to find the time. Only recently started S2 .

And when the dam breaks open many years too soon ,I'll see you on the dark side of the moon (Clare Torry Oooooh)
The rusty wire That holds the cork That keeps the anger in Gives way And suddenly it's day again
The sun is in the east Even though the day is done Two suns in the sunset Could be the human race is run
Like the moment when the brakes lock And you slide towards the big truck Oh, no You stretch the frozen moments with your fear
And you'll never hear their voices Daddy, daddy, And you'll never see their faces You have no recourse to the law anymore
And as the windshield melts And my tears evaporate Leaving only charcoal to defend Finally I understand The feelings of the few Ashes and diamonds Foe and friend We were all equal in the end
(Saxophone solo Raphael Ravenscroft to fade out)

And with the HIGH HUMIDITY … which is almost at 100 PERCENT ... it also feels more like 4000 FARENHEIT (we still don't use CELSIUS here) than 100 FARENHEIT (which the calculator says is . 37.7777778 C).
Yeah why don't you there join the metric system that would make things less confusing plus it would prevent expensive mistake when your Mars probe gets lost because one team did calculations in the metric system and the other used the UK/USA system (so no inches, yards, foot, ounce, pounds etc etc)

Why didn't you took the French metric system when LaFayette and his merry men helped you fight the Limeys during the American Revolution? just to piss off the brits

It's all about food. Americans then (and now?) prefer(red) the Classic British dishes above la cuisine française.

You should really watch the docu by Michael Moore Where To Invade Next ? When he is in France at a school it is particularly funny when More is amazed what kids get for school lunches compared to the abysmal food sold in US schools. The irony of the American Revolution is that it caused the French Revolution and cost King Louis the 16th his head

Shouldn't it be Reagan who pulled down Carter's solar panels the order is Nixon,Ford Carter, Reagan. McDonalds in Washington must have seen his income grow dramatically since Trump became president

The US should invest more in wind, solar, tidal energy and invest in Thorium fission reactors (all of the best of the normal fission but only a fragment of the highly radioactive waste the US did some research was done in the US in the 50's and 60's but it was dropped because it didn't produce uranium 238 and Plutonium needed to make nuclear bombs) and fusion (in Europe,South Korea China and Japan are all busy with programs or are building prototype reactors that should yield more energy than was put in.

They are busy with that they are building fusion reactors in multiple places in the world

It may take some time which is why I said thorium fission reactors might be a solution to cover the gap of energy demand before we have viable working fusion reactors, the Dutch government in a joint venture with Belgium are currently investigating thorium fission reactors.

They managed fusion for only short periods, in the early 90's we had this claim of cold fusion through the the use of specific electrodes but it turned out to be false ,well no one ever repeated the result the scientists involved got.

Maybe these things can go awfully fast if they manage to get the fusion going for longer periods of time
