If you haven't watched episode 5 of season 2, look away now! You've been warned.

Unbelievable episode. It looks as though Grace may in face be Emily, William's daughter, although we don't know that for sure. He could have more than one daughter.

Elsie is still around. Bernard indeed did not kill her, but simply left her bound near the cave. Or so it seems. Since he found her right outside the fabulous, magical resurrection lab it's always possible Bernard actually did kill her and she was brought back in there. We can be pretty confident the control module Bernard ran off in that place last time was intended for Ford. He wants to leave the computer system and take up residence in a new body. Does anyone remember the 90's movie Freejack? Anthony Hopkins was in almost the same exact situation. Dead, his mind stored in a computer, waiting for a body to transfer into.

What's up with the Ghost Nation? They drag all those prisoners to the place where they're going to be executed, stick knives to their throats, one of them whispers into the head of security's ear that you live as long as the last person who knew you (or something like that), then they all melt away into the night and disappear without leaving so much as a scratch on anyone. WTF? About the only thing we didn't see this week was Maeve and her entourage getting their kung-fu on. Oh well. Next week.

I thought it was interesting the way the relationship between the aging William and the frozen-in-time James Delos changed from the beginning (when he was tearful) to the end (just die you old bastard, and stay dead!).

Yes fantastic episode! At first I was disappointed there was no Maeve and Delores, but I quickly got over it.

When the silhouette of the person came riding up, I thought "William's daughter." And I immediately knew that James was in a lab and not real.

I never saw Freejack, but I think this may be true.

Exactly wtf was them disappearing about? I did not know the hosts also had the ability to disappear into thin air. Why did the woman who ran off (can't remember her name) say she didn't want to leave or go home -I think it's because she knows there is nowhere/nothing to leave to or go home to.

Yes that was very interesting.

They didn't actually vanish. They just sort of withdrew quickly and silently into the forest ... but why? The hosts seem to be at varying levels of self-awareness. A few completely, others partway there, and some still stuck in their (new) narratives. But they're not killing all humans the way it seemed at first. Is there a pattern? Is it about separating the innocent from the guilty, or something else entirely that causes the hosts to kill some and spare others? Or maybe there's no pattern at all. They're just acting on whims. I thought that railroad construction shifting from ties to bodies was pretty creepy. Were those humans, hosts, or both? You could see William realizing that he needed to get out of there before they really took notice of his presence.

And that woman who escaped from the Ghost Nation (unnecessarily it turned out) was Grace, the one who got away from the tiger in the Raj - and William's daughter. Earlier she'd said that she wasn't looking to leave the park and now we know what she was looking for. If this is the same little girl we saw talking to Dolores on the piano at James Delos' retirement party then why did she change her name from Emily to Grace? Or could it be that William has more than one daughter? It didn't seem like she could have been the one who called him a monster, since she greeted him with a warm smile. But who knows? Maybe after everything in the park went haywire she realized this would be the perfect cover to kill the old man and get away with it. Just claim a host killed him. That sort of thing.

drooling_face Oh, really? Just when I think I know something...I realize I don't.

laughing I wondered too were those railroad bodies humans, hosts, or probably both.

I knew it was the same woman who got away from the tiger- I just didn't realize that was the same woman who is William's daughter open_mouth . Is Grace Emily, or another daughter- all good theories you have Chris and THANKS for all the explanations and clarifications thumbsup .

Correct! Absolutely fantastic episode! And I am so stoked that Elsie is still alive! heart_eyes I have a thing for brainy chicks. grin

The show looks like it is trying to do a reverse set up. That is, they present to you a situation, and show its futility, only to show you later that what was shown as futile was actually accomplished. Of course I am referring to the transfer of a human mind into a host. The show seemed to go out of its way to show that it is not possible which makes me think we are going to get Ford in a COMPLETELY different body which they will reveal probably at the end or near the end of the season. I loved Elise's line BTW about them having to all die just so some asshole can live forever. LOL

The little girl is a great touch. Its both fascinating and creepy seeing a child expressing express itself like an adult.

Ghost nation is also a mystery. It really does look like Ford is still controlling things from cyberspace.

Anywho, great episode and I will be posting some more as soon as I rewatch the episode again. I'm sure there are plenty of clues that need to be examined.
