The series took a real dip here. The African angle seemed ludicrous and badly executed, Martin's interest in his son hard to believe and there was little dramatic tension or character development.

The family smuggling, the double agent strand and the amusing boardroom discussions about how to avoid bankruptcy in the east were all good though. I'm not optimistic they'll have enough fresh ideas for '89.
