Jonah begins his first day on the job at big-box store Cloud 9 and immediately starts a rocky relationship with floor supervisor Amy when he comes off as elitist and mistakenly marks appliances for only a quarter. He is also the romantic target of aggressive assistant manager Dina, whose bible is the employee code of conduct. Pregnant Cheyenne shares a memorable moment with her boyfriend, Bo.

Store manager Glenn gets overly excited when the Cloud 9 corporate magazine, Stratus, is interested in a story. The reporter, Cynthia, is more focused on Jonah, however, and the two develop a more-than-business relationship, which Amy had suspected. Garrett does his best to avoid be photographed for the magazine's cover. Cheyenne asks her boyfriend, Bo, to come up with a corporate jingle to help earn money to pay expenses for their upcoming baby.

Amy fights racial stereotypes, while Jonah learns why you should never lend a helping hand.

When Jonah's coworkers discover a mannequin that looks exactly like him, it quickly becomes everyone's newest obsession. While doing his best to prove to Amy and everyone else that the teasing doesn't bother him, Jonah ends up doing the complete opposite. Elsewhere Cheyenne is thinking of putting her baby up for adoption, pitting Glenn and Dina against one another in a fight over who would make the better parent.

Amy's daughter Emma is without childcare and has to come to the store for the day. Unfortunately, this is against store policy, so when Glenn pulls Amy away to help him with a task, Jonah has to keep Amy's secret and an eye on Emma. Elsewhere Mateo and Cheyenne fight over a couch that is on sale because an elderly man passed away on it and Dina tries to catch a shoplifter.

When Glenn publicly congratulates Jonah for his superb test results, Amy becomes slightly annoyed and competitive, resulting in a chaotic battle of street smarts vs. book smarts. Meanwhile, the rest of the Cloud 9 team are on the lookout for a secret shopper, determined to be on their best behavior for him.

Glenn pits the employees against each other in a contest to see who can sell more stuff.

Cheyenne shops Cloud 9's one-day wedding sale while Amy and Dina search for her missing fiancé.

Secrets come pouring out after the employees get locked in Cloud 9 overnight.

During the coronavirus pandemic, Amy and Jonah try to bring order to the chaos in Cloud 9 while being pulled in multiple directions. The employees learn what it means to be "heroes," while Amy and Jonah's impending move to California looms large.

As the Cloud 9 employees prepare to send Amy and Jonah off, Mateo and Glenn attempt to organise a video tribute and Dina searches for a new best friend.

With the floor supervisor position available, Jonah decides to throw his hat in the ring, much to Dina's chagrin. Glenn and Mateo struggle to find the right balance in their working relationship. Garrett tries to prove he's been in love before.

On the day of Cloud 9's "In-store-vaganza," Dina finally gets the chance to step up to the plate and run the store. Garrett and Cheyenne search for a mysterious smell. Jonah finds himself excited about a new opportunity.

After Cloud 9 changes their policy of locking up Black beauty products, the employees are forced to reckon with systemic racism in the store, with Garrett leading the charge. Glenn desperately tries to right the store's wrongs, in misguided ways.

After returning from quarantine, Glenn enlists Cheyenne and Bo's help to get Dina to relinquish control. Jonah and Mateo have second thoughts about helping Sandra with her cat's medical needs. Garrett struggles with customer returns.

When the employees start to worry about Jonah's emotional state, Mateo, Glenn and Sandra try to help him move on after Amy. Cheyenne is forced to shadow Carol for the day. Garrett helps Dina search for a secret location in the store.

Jonah finds himself in trouble with Sandra and Glenn when her son, Tony, starts working at Cloud 9. Mateo tries to help Cheyenne be a better floor supervisor. Garrett is unwittingly thrust in the middle of Dina's relationship with Brian the vet.

Glenn is confused by Zephra's new store policies and enlists Sandra and Marcus to help figure out what's going on. A memory lapse causes Jonah to question his friendship with Garrett. Cheyenne and Mateo face an unexpected challenge.

On the day of Store 1217's first deep cleaning since the pandemic began, Glenn ropes Garrett into throwing a party to cheer up the employees. Dina needs Cheyenne's guidance when her ability to run the store is compromised. Jonah tries to help Mateo.

When Jeff returns to push customer satisfaction surveys, Mateo enlists Garrett's help to hide his relationship. Dina, Glenn and Cheyenne's plan to boost the scores creates new and bigger problems. Jonah tries to convince Sandra to value herself.

When the Cloud 9 founder's son makes a surprise visit, the employees struggle to accommodate his bold ideas. Garrett helps Dina navigate a tricky situation with Brian. Jonah and Sandra use social media to investigate some worrying news.

Some inside information leads the Cloud 9 employees to try to make the store seem perfect for one day.
