How do they travel through time?Do they use wormholes?

I read that there is no spatial distance for travelling through time,so time travel is impossible.

But this is a tv show.

How do you map time?Gideon always takes them to specific places at a specific point in time.

Even if you DID manage to open a wormhole to travel through time,you'd have NO way of knowing WHERE you'd end up!!!
