I agree that THIS Danny doesn't look like he could hold down THIS Misty. In the comics they had this up and down relationship that felt more realistic than most comic book relationships and I think that Netflix/Marvel's poor casting choices and poor writing/Show Runner really screwed the fans of the comics out of seeing the true Daniel Rand or the tough, SMART, sassy badass that Misty Knight is. It's a shame since there's so few black female super heroes on the silver screen. At least Colleen gets to shine 😕

as for this incarnation of misty, i agree she would be a poor fit for this version of danny, who is naive and immature.

i stopped reading the iron fist comic around the time he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. have started to try and catch up and i'm currently reading brubaker's the immortal iron fist. i look forward to discovering their relationship in the comics.

talking of bad writing choices, they have made jessica so screwed up and hostile it seems unlikely she will end up marrying luke - but then he seemed to have forgiven her for abusing him in the defenders (which i don't find credible) so who knows?

That being said wtf is up with Misty being this annoying character that just gets in the Heroes way? Why the hell hasn't she had a single fight scene? Colleen and Misty are the Daughters Of The Dragon for Christ sake. Why the hell havent we seen her drop some Baddies on their asses yet? Why hasn't she showed off her impressive fighting skills yet? I like Colleen Wing's character but it drives me nuts that she is dating Iron Fist. Misty and Danny have been on again, off again forever, until they eventually get married and have a kid that they name after Luke Cage. They had a complicated yet sweet relationship that would've been great on TV. But instead we get a weak Misty that can't fight unless she has a gun in her hand and likes to get in the Heroes way. Misty should be sexy but tough, the character was inspired by Pam Grier of the 70's! Nothing against the actress that plays her.

Argh!!! And they throw away this little teaser of a line at the start where "she's not just a cop now" and don't follow up with ANYTHING? Like - I want to know she's in some awesome super-level extra-cops group, I can't wait for LC2 with her bionic arm.

Personally, I love Misty and Danny in the comics - but the Netflix Danny? Yawn (just my opinion) so I'm perfectly happy with some stray from the source material here. Simone Missick deserves a total badass, I feel like she would eat Finn Jones alive. I really want her to team up with Colleen, and for Colleen to stop trying to fix all of Danny's issues - maybe Colleen and Misty could hook up (I can totally get on board with that - just me? OK). But yeah... I agree, MORE MISTY please. At least, it looks like we might see some of this come out in LC2.

I'm kinda confused on the handling of Misty Knight as well. I get setup, but I agree I don't agree with how they handled it.

I have a lot of problems with Buck's season of Iron First (if they're smart they won't let him touch another Marvel franchise after Inhumans), but one of the things that is puzzling is not establishing a friendship between Misty and Colleen Wing in that series. In fact instead of blowing the majority of the show's running time on board room stuff and Meachum drama they could have had Knight in there working with Rand and Wing, even being one of the people to help him acclimate to being back after 10 years. All the other shows did world building like this, except Iron Fist, and again, its puzzling. I get using Claire as a connecting character but Misty is actually a part of Iron Fist's mythos she should NOT have been left out.

My theory is that the Defenders' showrunner had to basically "fix" the problems of the previous show (being Iron Fist) and this is what we got. I actually dug her interrogation scene with Jessica Jones but after that, yeah, I agree.

As far as her dating Danny...again I think you can blame Buck for that. It was his choice to hire Finn Jones in the first place and his choice to portray him as a sort of 10 year old in an adult's body. His idea to pair him with Colleen. And even though he has been removed as showrunner for season 2 the damage is done. We're stuck with Finn and that portrayal, only I suppose the new writer/showrunner can mitigate it a bit, have him "grow up" a little more. The point is, as it has been set up, matching Misty with Danny NOW would not make any sense. I can't see her having the patience to basically be a babysitter for Danny. And make no mistake that is sadly what Colleen's function is if you look at their relationship as set up under Buck.

I feel like Misty is in a sort of limbo right now, the only one not paired up (Luke has Claire, Danny has Colleen, and Matt...erm, Elektra and Karen, unless Karen will be exported to Punisher), and the only one without a clear direction. It doesn't feel fair. But maybe her next appearance when she has the bionic arm will clear that up. Fingers crossed.

Yeah Simone Missick has the look of Misty down pat, including the hair. Its weird seeing online people actually thinking otherwise.

OMG. Exactly this. I couldn't put my finger on it before. But this is exactly what they've done to Colleen.

I'm grieving the loss of the potential for the friendship between Colleen and Misty. It could've been amazing.
