Discuss Good Witch

The last two specials are better categorized as season premiere episodes of Season 2 and Season 3 respectively. While the other specials have their own cast, these last two specials are better categorized within their respective seasons because they are part of the story arc for their respective seasons. For example Good Witch Halloween which aired as the premiere of Season 2 introduced a new character named Ben Patterson who has returned for many episodes in both Season 2 and Season 3.

So I think they should be moved from specials to Season 2 Episode 0 and Season 3 Episode 0.

I'm not saying your reasoning is wrong, but according to our guidelines, we have to follow the original network's website.

Please share with me the guidelines. I'm happy to follow them. I did find this page: https://www.themoviedb.org/documentation/editing/television But not what you mentioned.

If it helps, the last two specials were promoted by the original network at the time as the Season Premiere. Here is proof: https://web.archive.org/web/20151005000012/http://www.hallmarkchannel.com/good-witch/original-premiere-good-witch-halloween

Thank you for your reply.

Yup, they are really old and needs to be updated. smile_cat

We kind of have a lot of little rules, but I guess the ones I always have to repeat are:

  • The Regular Cast is reserved for cast members with a series regular status as per a season on-screen credits or the press releases. No recurring actor, guest stars, regular guest stars, co-stars, etc. Preferably, only the season regulars who are in all or most episodes of a season.
  • Episodes should be added exactly as they first aired on the original network (title, date, order, season). For newer series, we try to mirror the original network's website. The official website usually trumps press releases and TV listing infos.
  • Blank episodes (no title/air date) are to be avoided as much as possible. Ideally no more than one upcoming episode with a missing title or air date.

I really think it's a special. I also checked the press website, and it is referred to as special event and a "sneak peek precedes the Season 2 kick-off of Hallmark Channel’s original primetime series, Good Witch, which will debut in February 2016.".

Thanks for the reply. They're definitely specials. The problem is they're also season premieres and they follow the same format as regular episodes as well as continuing the story arc of regular episodes. So they're different from other specials in that they follow the same format as regular episodes. The only thing that makes them special is that they air in October instead of the spring with the rest of the season.

Anyway if you're happy the way it is, we can leave it alone. I think we both want the same thing. Just a good index.
