I just now noticed that this has been reported multiple times in the past, and has not been resolved yet.

Wikipedia's page, list the season's correctly for the US release on Adult Swim / Toonami.

Win you look at Funimation's Blu-Ray Releases, They name it the Final Chapters Part 1, 2, and 3. Part 1 is Season 5, Part 2 is Season 6, and Part 3 is Season 7.

When you look at TV-Guide, they show the US Air Date, and Season 7 to be the same that the Wikipedia page shows.

It should actually be one season with 159 episodes. But the bigger issue is it's an alternative version of Dragon Ball Z and we currently do not support alternative versions.

Is that really an issue? They kinda released a new show with a different amount of epsiodes (if I'm not mistaken) so there shouldn't be a problem. I'd suggest we go with that single season an all epsiodes and build groups on that like we already did in Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Super.

Season 5: World Tournament Saga should end on episode 24 "Countdown to Revival, Crush Babidi’s Ambitions!" 8/3/2014; episodes 25 -69 should be removed since you already have them in Seasons 6 & 7 pages Season 7: Evil Buu Saga should be a total of 27 episodes; The episode names and descriptions are correct for ep. 1-27, but the thumbnails are from Season 5. Please update the thumbnails for those 27 episodes and remove 28-69, since ep 28 reverts back to season 6 with "I Will Deal with the Majin! Vegeta's Final Mortal Combat!" which doesn't make any sense.

That won't help. They are working on adding the group system to the API so Plex could fetch that data instead. This seasons chaos can't stay the way it is!

Ok, so I think I successfully "cleaned up" the seasons:

• I remove Season 7. As @thedjjams pointed out in the report, they were created as duplicates of episodes already in the previous seasons.
• I removed the extra German duplicates in Season 5.
• I removed the episodes that were already in the Specials from the regular seasons. (These episodes didn't air as part of the original Japanese TV release.)
• I quickly attempted to fix the translations of Season 5 and 6. But if any of you speak German or Spanish, would you mind double-checking to see if the translations match the original Japanese titles?
• I removed a few specials episodes that were incorrectly added.

Oh and please don't freak out guys. The current (less than ideal) seasons are temporary. The data still needs to be merged.

The "English Saga" structure is not ideal for a few reasons. They are not in-line with our general TV guidelines. We always try to replicate how the series first aired on the original network. Sagas can be very subjectives, the info is often only available after the original airing, and different countries have very different sagas (just take a peek at the Japanese or the French Wiki). Because different contributors (often from different countries) want very different seasons, the data becomes very confusing and messy.

So we decided to follow the original Japanese airing. For example, the regular episodes of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Super are in a single season:

And to accommodate the needs of all users, @travisbell recently built a really cool feature called "Episode Groups". Honestly, the seasons were a mix of many things. But, yes, the general idea is that we want to change the data from American sagas original Japanese TV airing.

Since 2018, any idea if the fix that only travisbell travisbell could bring has been made or not ?

In the end, If I rely on the TMDB order and number of seasons which is 6 for the moment, is everything correct for you ?

I don't know... Travis, will you have some time to merge a couple of anime series soon?

In the meantime, I 100% recommend using an alternative order. If the episode groups get broken with the merge, we'll just fix them.
