Yeah - I, too, am wondering how it is that Laurel has concluded her dad was responsible for Wes' death.

I got the distinct impression that when her dad got a passerby to snap the picture of he and Laurel together that something was up about that. It came off seeming really fishy, somehow, like he has an ulterior motive for wanting that picture to have been taken.

So much this. I get that she suspects him shady but I'd love to know how she automatically decided he dad killed Wes.

Honestly that's the only thing that left me scratching my head. That and why the hell they made Connor cut off his beautiful hair and shave?!?!😥

Didn't they actually show that guy that works for her dad actually killing Wes on last season's finale, and Laurel had followed him and met up and talked with him, so I thought he told her that her dad had him kill Wes? I swear there are soo many back flashes, side flashes and flash forwards on this show it makes me forget what I have seen and what did or didn't happen stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye .

Exactly this! For a few seconds there I had no idea who he was.

Since he got the make-under he's become seriously nondescript in both looks and personality, now just seems like he's woebegone and/or a wreck all the time. He used to be one of the show's most compelling characters, but has, over time, evolved into a blah doormat.

Now I'm wondering what in the heck is with Nate, I think the screen indicated 3 months in the future, being in the hospital, seeming to have been up to something iffy, when Laurel awakens screaming, "Where is my baby???!"!

@genplant29 I think that was Frank in the hospital. @ScorpionQ2 I think they showed him kill Wes for us viewers. Laurel went to the blonde guy who she thought was responsible for Wes' death with an intent on killing him but was intercepted by the guy who actually killed Wes. As I said before I'm sure she thought her dad did some shady stuff, and her investigating his company's possible involvement on an employee's death is beneficial for us to see just how shady he is. But how she quickly assumed he had something to do with Wes'death I don't know.

No genplant is correct, Laurel is in the hospital screaming, "Where is my baby??!!!" Nate is there (not sure about Frank, but I think so) and Annalise's re-hab therapist (Jimmy Smits) shows up and I wonder why is he there and how does he even know all of them especially Laurel.

I don't remember(and since I don't, I could be wrong) them ever having shown something- especially a murder - just for us viewers when it wasn't true ? Thanks MDBAaddict, you may be right, but I'm going to stick with my version above, until they show us more/different, because it would make sense that the guy that works for her dad confessed the info to Laurel rather than she just jumped to the conclusion that her dad had Wes killed. Her dad has always been a shady character,Laurel just didn't know/refused to face it.

Exactly, I'm wondering this too- Why is Nate there and Annalise's re-hab therapist (Jimmy Smits) shows up and I wonder why the heck is he even there ?does he have ties with Laurel's dad? and how does he even know all of them especially Laurel? HTGAWM is just full of surprises.

Scorpion, it was Annalise's therapist (though at the time I was writing I actually had temporarily forgotten his specific character exists) I meant when I accidentally instead said Nate. When that therapist was shown there off to the side in the hospital, for seemingly no relevant reason to be present period, that sure was out of the blue and now also has him seeming like yet another potentially shady character. If I recall correctly about when he was shown there, didn't he briefly call someone on his phone and say something that caused him to seem involved about Lord only knows what?

Speaking of that hospital, something about the corridor, when the camera panned back, struck me as not looking quite right. It looked so starkly white and empty (no people about, and no nurses' carts, and no things for patients' charts, etc. on the walls next to the doors of the rooms, not to mention the hallway seemed more narrow and small than hospital hallways, that I've personally seen, usually are), and more like it was some back corridor of some other kind of building than an actual mainstream hospital corridor. (Actually, I kinda thought it gave off the impression of maybe a corridor in an asylum. Was Laurel perhaps committed somewhere and her baby taken away?)

I wonder if we'll ever again seen the sweet pretty young nurse who occasionally popped up last season (and I believe also maybe the prior season) - the character who was always friendly to and supportive of Laurel, though Laurel kept most of the way freezing her out. Although that nurse always seemed like a genuinely good and caring person, and like 100% the real deal, I always had a feeling that the show was going to have her wind up also being up to something.

This exactly.

Yes rofl Yes he did- but I don't remember what he said.

You know what? Funny, I remember thinking at the time - why is the hospital so empty- except for the seemingly shady characters and Laurel screaming like that with no nurse or doctor in sight.

You mean the one that was dating Wes? Her name escapes me now. They may have no real role for her now since Wes is gone.

I just now cheat-checked IMDb's listed credits for this show, and the actress who played pretty young nurse Meggy isn't listed as making any appearances on the show this season. So it appears she may be out of the picture.

Laurel knows enough about her father's business and what Dominick does for the man. Seeing him IN HER TOWN right after Wes' death made her suspicious. Then, only to have her father appear soon after and the constant phone calls and "fatherly concern" he was never capable of growing up only compounded her suspicions to the point everything was screaming at her "this was my Dad." He was already upset believing Frank was the father of her child because he didn't like the man. Then to find out (because he has connections) that it was actually Wes' kid, she knew there was no other person responsible. This is also why she lies to him and tells him she had an abortion. She didn't want him to harm her unborn child. (Sidenote: I believe her father is responsible for the scene where she is crying in the hospital over her lost baby. He either kidnapped the kid or killed him.) But no, it wasn't a "random" jump to conclusions. Dominick was the domino effect. A man known to do the "dirty work" for her Dad in her town when she had not seen him in YEARS.
