Discuss How to Get Away with Murder

I've done as much as I can to add the cast and crew. I've never done that before, and so I really didn't know what I was doing, so I did the best I could. I copied IMDB's cast and crew to a Word Document (121 pages long) and made it to page 107 before I had to shut it down due to exhaustion. I'm sure I've made mistakes. I apologize. Feel free to correct anything I did wrong or add stuff I missed. Some people I had to skip entirely due to the job listed from IMDB didn't have a match here so I had to skip them.

As I said, I'm exhausted. Night.

I'm working on correcting the mess you created. Please don't add any more information before I get back to you here with feedback on what went wrong! (EDIT: Did not finish now so will continue tonight or tomorrow.)

Sorry. I informed people on the talk board that there isn't a full cast and crew list when I was trying to find a particular actress's name and they told me that I had to add everything and just to copy everything over from IMDB, so that's what I did.

I helped out and deleted the rest of the 200 non main actors. For crew, no comment xD

How it works here in a nutshell: cast and crew that is credited in every episode, you add on season level, everyone else you add on episode level. Usually that is just the guest stars, some co-stars, and the director/writers of the episode. I also tend to add the DoP and editor.

You know the most important stuff. Feel free to add anything -- though beware, such things you should not just copy blindly from imdb at all times. I've even seen mistakes in crew titles in big movies like Catch Me If You Can (I don't bother fixing them on IMDb, as I find their editing process way to hard to understand).

Thanks Marr. I'll be finishing up Crew tomorrow.

Adding Crew for a series is tricky. For example, a lot of times they have one set of crew for the pilot, then a new bunch for the rest of season 1. This means that you can't add the person with the one pilot credit as a regular and the same goes for the one with a credit for, say, 14 out of 15 episodes. Those have to be added for each episode. More advice tomorrow!

Aw, hell. You poor thing.

The first thing you need to know it that for TV, we work with two levels.

The first level is the one accessible through the main structure:

Any actor or crew member added to a season is credited in every episodes of that season. That means, as @alltimemarr said, that we only add cast and crew members that are credited in every episode of a season. I must also add that the Regular Cast is reserved for actors with a season/series regular status.

For example, in the third season of HTGAWM, the series regular are "Viola Davis as Professor Annalise Keating, Billy Brown as Detective Nate Lahey, Alfred Enoch as Wes Gibbins, Jack Falahee as Connor Walsh, Aja Naomi King as Michaela Pratt, Matt McGorry as Asher Millstone, Karla Souza as Laurel Castillo, Charlie Weber as Frank Delfino, Liza Weil as Bonnie Winterbottom and Conrad Ricamora as Oliver Hampton." (Those are information you can get from press releases or on-screen opening credits).

Everyone else (recurring, co-star, guest stars, etc.) have to be added directly to the episodes. This is the second level. You have to Edit an episode to add its cast and crew:

Hope that helps!

Well, don't worry about it. I won't be doing any more editing. As I said, never done it before. The only thing I used IMDB for was to look stuff up and join in discussions. I'm not a technical person. Never have been. That's why I reported the issue to the main boards in the first place. I was kind of surprised when I got a "do it yourself" response. And from what you all just described on the process here, sounds way too complicated for me. But thanks.

Edited to add: Isn't there just one page you can look at to see all the cast and crew? This is what I liked about IMDB. Easy searching. Everything in one place. I tend to give up when I have to do hunt and pecking to find an actor or actress I saw in an episode but may not remember the episode and want to know the person's name.

I can respect that. Editing movie is easier, though. They only have one cast and one crew!

Unfortunaly, no. There is no "see all" for TV series. But Travis is always open to hearing new ideas ;)

Yeah, I've noticed that, thanks (re: Mr. Bell). He seems very kind. You all have been kind too. Thank you. And, sorry for causing trouble with the cast and crew list.

I have now finished fixing Crew (main one). I left a few credits where it's a good guess they had a certain job a full season even if a couple of episodes are not yet listed.

Thanks to Marr and banana_girl for help and good advice!

And, sorry for causing trouble with the cast and crew list.

No worries. It happens. The best advice I have for anyone new is to take a few weeks to just lurk around and learn how everything works. That's how I got started. Then when you feel you know enough, you can start contributing.
