Discuss American Crime

I overall really liked the Season 3 finale episode, which I consider to have been strong - but the final couple or so minutes fell flat for me and was unsatisfying. The episode ended (those final minutes) in such way that, ultimately, no sort of notable impact/impression felt like it was made. Those concluding minutes felt dull.

How do you rate Season 3 overall? On a regular 10 stars rating scale I give it I think 7.5; on the TMDb maximum-5-stars rating scale I give it 4 (which is, of course, equivalent to 8 on the 10 stars scale; Season 3 was too well done to round down to 7). In general the season was relatively slow going, though the actual individual stories were interesting and varying degrees of compelling, and of course the acting and scripts were excellent and intelligent.

Which specific one or two storyline(s) of the season did you personally find yourself most interested in? For me it was definitely the Shea (teenage prostitute) and the Claire/Gabrielle stories.

I don't know why they focused on those last three characters at the end. I didn't see how they were victims...maybe Shea and the Dude, but wasn't that guy an overseer? It was a WTF? moment.

I agree. Not only those three characters, but that whole courthouse setup in general fell flat for me, as I personally didn't feel like it "worked" putting everyone from each of the different storylines into the same courtroom at the same time. I realize it was making a point that now justice will have its day, for whatever it may be worth. Still, it wasn't a final few moments I cared for. It felt like a lazy ending.

By the way, once the young Latino man's father fled, episodes back, I wanted to at some point see him somehow turn back up, so we'd know at least something about whether he got away or if he was caught. Instead, we got never another glimpse or mention of him. I much preferred how Season 2 went, as it didn't wrap up things tidily either, but at least felt like everything did actually come to a conclusion.

I agree the final moments felt rushed.

final episode was good, though the final minutes were not wrapped in nice way with questionable justice served, well at least justice was served by person not in courtroom but in Mexico

the season had very good build up but it felt kinda flat in the middle, though I was impressed with all stories

but in the end, the onlne pimp got away, housing conditions don't seem to be improved for Mexicans, rich lady learned lesson that money ain't free, the other rich lady won't go to jail probably since maid will not press charges so she can stay with her boy and junkie end up in jail. i like how they focused on societal issues of poor people

still better than second boring season about rich kids, though everything is weak compared to first season which was not so fragmented as the last

The series was recently cancelled. So those three seasons are the only ones we'll ever get of it (unless, of course, one of the cable networks picks it up and resumes it, like sometimes happens).

After all these years nothing happened. It sad that such high quality shows like these get cancelled.

Funny thing actually, I wanted to watch American Crime Story but messed up and ended up watching American Crime instead. Happy accidents do happen.

I think that's the point. What they showed as happening keeps happening, maybe still today. AND NO ONE HAS ANY SOLUTION.

I rated this show 9/10. I would rate season 3 similar.

It might be slow but it had my complete attention.

Hm, all of them actually!

@lost, very good to see your new comments on this and American Crime's other threads.

Which of the series' three seasons did you overall like best? I only watched Seasons 2 and 3, and, of those, was especially riveted by Season 2, though definitely was also very impressed by excellent S3.

You should check out the first season too they all are really good.

If I had to choose I would say season 3 because of the scale at which it covers the subject matter.
