It began as a wide-audience sitcom. It seems they are now targeting a relatively narrow audience, mostly female, who are into drama and perhaps also working through addiction issues. I've finally gotten weary of the constant storm and stress; even the comedy is dark and snarky, almost never light and fun.
If that's what they want, that's fine. But I'm gone. I can appreciate humor--especially hip, edgy humor--as much as the next person. But this is just getting weirdly dark and relatively unentertaining. It's getting claustrophobic and monotonous, and has basically become heavily female-oriented: I suspect they've gradually been losing the male segment of the audience. Again, if that's what the producers want, that's fine. But it's starting to feel like this may not last a whole lot longer as their audience erodes.
