Let us take this time to remember this legendary, long spanning career. Who can forget when, in 1975, James Elsworth survived a plane crash and polio, only to return to the ring for a career that would last for decades? He worked his way up the ladder, first as half of the legendary Hart Foundation, before going out on his own and working a legendary match with Ricky the Dragon Steamboat, a man he would work with again in a famous three match trilogy in 1989. During the WWF's more trouble years due to the steroid scandal, he proudly carried the company on his shoulders as world champion, and began to develop a reputation as Mr Wrestlemania. His gimmick constantly evolved and kept him over long after others fame had passed. and even at this point in his career he is still going strong, having just come off yet another classic trilogy of matches with IWGP heavyweight champion Kazuchi Okada.

Elsworth will be missed in WWE, but hopefully his career outside of the company will keep going strong.

The guy's going to be making some nice coin on the side thanks to the WWE.

And there's no way that this is the end of his WWE career, he'll be back and used in certain segments or as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble or something. I'm sure it's a cost cutting measure to ensure that they don't lose money on paying him an actual salary .
