Berkeley Castle

The current incarnation of the castle was built in 1153 AD, and used as a shell keep.It played a part in two historical events - housing West Country barons while they were on their way to fight King John in Runnymead, before the Magna Carta was signed, and, perhaps more well known, for the incarceration of Edward II, who was deposed by his Queen, Isabella, and her lover Roger Mortimer.The King was tortured, and died an agonising death.His screams, according to legend, can still be heard each year on the anniversary of his passing.

Carlisle Castle

Tonight the team head to the English/Scottish border and Carlisle Castle.Most famous for having Mary Queen of Scots imprisoned within it's walls in 1568, the castle switched hands between the English and Scottish many times over it's long history.Once used as a prison and barracks for the military, it still houses, to this day, the headquarters of a Royal Regiment. One of the many ghosts said to haunt the building is that of a woman found bricked up in a wall.Her skeleton was discovered on the second floor of the keep in the 1830's, and her presence is said to have caused one soldier to die of fright. What will the Most Haunted team uncover?

Belsay Hall

Building work on Belsay Hall, Northumberland, began exactly one hundred years ago, in 1810, taking 7 years to complete. It was the brainchild of Sir Charles Monck, and designed by architect John Dobson. Today it is just an empty shell, and the only work that is done to it is purely structural, but downstairs the remains of the Greek style pillars can still be seen. With it's servants quarters and nursery in the attic, all said to be haunted, will the team come across the resident spirits?

Gregynog Hall

Gregynog Hall is situated in Powys, mid-Wales, and has been passed through many hands throughout the years. The current building, made entirely of concrete, but with mock Tudor wooden beams on the outer walls, was built in the 1840's by Charles Hanbury-Tracy.Once used by the Davies sisters, Margaret and Gwendoline, as a rehabilitation house during the war, they handed it over to the University of Wales in 1963, who now use it as a conference and study centre for their students.But with a strong history of paranormal activity, will the Most Haunted team be able to uncover it's secrets?
