my favorites are all gone, the new people are not what made this show once great.
And how! The good old days of S1 and S2 (even a good bit of S3-S6). Interesting plots and characters. Great settings (carriers, submarines, naval and marine bases). I miss those episodes.
I had to actually go back to the episode lists to find out where I drifted off. Somewhere around season 8/9 I started watching every few episodes.
I caught the Ziva end and cheered; the character had become a hot mess. Saw Bishop added to the show and shrugged; she wasn't great, but she wasn't that bad. But the stories just weren't that interesting. I started doing other things instead of watching, and didn't care when I moved in to a house with no cable and lousy antenna reception.
IMDB still had message boards, so I kept up with the show that way; the description of the gawdawful farewell episode for DiNozzo made me glad I couldn't see it. (YouTube clips were more than enough. What a Charlie Foxtrot.)
Now I can catch up and I'm appalled. I caught the episode where Ducky left autopsy for the research department, and the episode where Abby left for England. Being charitable and going back to season 6 instead of the very beginning--Gibbs, McGee, Vance, Palmer and Ducky may be there, but they're pale copies of what they were.
Thank heavens for Netflix.

I liked Ziva. Unpopular opinion it seems, but I liked Jenny.
Aww, Mike Franks. He was cool. Dinozzo is my fave male.
