Husband, single, both or none? From the kissing scene it seem that husband was actually gay in real life, while the single guy really enjoyed it only in VR.

Also in the end, wife can fuck around once a year in real life or was it also only in VR (implied by box she got too)?

Neither were gay, although you could argue the friend was because he enjoyed being a woman and having sex with a man. That was the point of them meeting in real life to kiss to find out. Basically they were mentally in love as best buddies usually have this close bromance, but only attracted to each other when the opposite sex.

As for the ending...yes, once a year he gets to have sex with his mate online while she can play the field in real life (or just enjoy being hit on by a stranger). The box she gave him contained her ring, I believe (so she could act single)

except Danny hesitated long time after kiss to answer implying he is gay IRL

I used to really be a fan of this series, but I don't know. The last three episodes of this season were underwhelming and kind of stupid for me. Both the Miley Cyrus one and the Striking Vipers episode (which went a totally different direction from what I was expecting) just felt off to me. The only one I kind of got into was Smithereen.

agreed, although already 4th season was quite bad, you can see netflix influence or maybe they are just running out of ideas always playing with the "bean" device

@Markoff No offense, but you might want to rethink your #spoiler strategy. I'm not one super worried about spoilers, but I like to disclaim them (and see them disclaimed), but to do so in the subject only to post the spoiler in the subject kinda defeats the purpose. Again, not trying to be overly critical, just an observation.

As to your post: I think that was the whole point of the show...the ambiguity about sexual experience. That being said, I thought the episode sucked. 3/10 for me. #culturewaragendas

I wouldnt say a guy wanting to get fucked in the vagina is really trans. Maybe, maybe not. Its more like a gay guy who wants a vagina (or bisexual). Is the husband gay/bi? Ehhhh, maybe romantically. Sexually, I dunno.

Agreed.

I liked the idea or what they were going for. They just didnt really pull it off well. I'm gay and even I wasnt really into the episode (even though its the kind of story I would come up with and have never really seen explored on screen before). I think the show got strangely stereotypically American in this season. I dont know if its just me but this show felt more British (like Inside no.9) before. The acting for me in this season doesnt match the intensity of the plotlines. So it felt like the stakes were never really that high or something. And overall just seemed heavy handed/cliche/and cheesy.

None of them were gay. Remember that scene when they kiss? Remember their reaction? None of them enjoyed it. Husband was also male in that game, so definitely he was straight both in game and real life and the other guy was woman in game & he enjoyed that role, but when he tried in real life, he didn't like kissing a man, so in real life he was a straight (he was in bed with some chick), but in game he enjoyed being a woman and being dominated, so in game he was a woman and in real life - a man and he definitely liked more being a woman in game. I know it's a bit complicated, but this is how it seemed from the TV show.

Well...no. You could say the husband might not have been attracted to his best friend physically, but attracted to him on a romantic/emotional level; he enjoyed simulated sex with him as a woman (though visually in game he was having sex with a woman, the idea was he knew that the person controlling & experiencing the sex with him was his best friend- another man). The other guy was a woman in the game and enjoyed having sex with a virtual man who he knew was played by his best friend, who is also a man (so from that you would think hes both attracted to men physically, and romantically/emotionally). He didn't enjoy kissing him in real life, but that just might mean while he finds that Asian man in the game hot, he might not feel the same about the way about the way his best friend looks in real life; he still might be attracted to men in general physically/visually (just not his best friend).

Having said that, the point is that its kinda hard to tell. Does fantasy & gaming experience translate to someone's (identity) in real life? Usually, I would say no. But from watching the episode, the gaming experience for both men obviously meant a lot to them and were a big part of their lives (on a deep level that transferred outside of the game- it affected his best friend's relationship with a woman and its something the husband struggled and kept hidden from his wife). You could say the two men were secretive about their gaming rendezvous because it was technically "cheating" and not at all because it was "gay" but I dunno, not sure I buy that. Could you say both men are still straight having watched that episode? Maybe. There are other ways to interpret what the simulated sex meant for both the husband and his best friend, that wouldnt come to the conclusion that they were gay- maybe something else, or maybe just straight. But it wouldnt be just because in real life they were with women. (If I remember correctly there was a scene where the husband has sex with his wife, and the wife really enjoyed and was surprised by his passion, when it was pretty clear the husband was motivated/thinking of his best friend/their experience on the simulated sex they were having in that game). From the scene where both men went to the trouble of meeting each other "just to know for sure" and kiss, for me indicates that what they experienced in the game is actually something both of them wanted to see if they could replicate and explore in real life (like the sex/relationship in the game they experienced was better than what they had in real life).
