Third-year basic surgical trainee FAN TSE-YU is on her way to Mercy Hospital on her first day of placement, during which she gets stuck in a traffic jam caused by a car crash. Primary school boy TO TZE-LAM is injured in the crash, but is saved by final-year higher trainee in Neurosurgery CHEUNG YAT-KIN who happens to pass by. Having finished their medical studies in the Faculty of Medicine, YEUNG PUI-CHUNG and his classmates start their housemanship in Mercy Hospital. YU, CHUNG, TONG HON-PONG and HUNG MEI-SUET report for duty at the Neurosurgery Department and start to visit various wards in the company of KIN. KIN and YU are impressed with SUET’s venipuncture techniques while CHUNG is so careless that he has caused the patient to suffer a great deal all through the process. YU thinks that KIN is being too harsh with CHUNG and has a very bad impression of him……

YU meets an enthusiastic nurse called HOI-KI, through whom she gets to know KIN’s mother WONG SIU-ANG, who is working at the hospital as a cleaner. Male nurse LUI SIU-YIK is outraged at being called “male mistress” and picks an argument with the patient. Matron TO KA-MAN turns up suddenly and blames YIK for amending the duty schedule and being absent from work without any permission, but YIK explains that he needs to look after his son and is left no other options. KIN asks CHUNG to do the follow-up at the admission ward but CHUNG is so lazy that he has only spent a little time inputting data into the computer, for which he gets rebuked again by KIN. KIN goes downstairs to pick up his younger brother YAT-HONG, who is paralyzed and seated in the wheelchair. The brothers get along well and their closeness is well evidenced through their causal chat along the way……

YU learns from a few nurses that someone is urinating in the public area of the hospital, following which she sees Principal CHAN peeing somewhere nearby. While discussing Principal CHAN’s brain tumor operation, everyone believes that MAN is highly unlikely to select KIN as his first assistant. Realizing that SUET has been so aloof recently, YU tries to have a word with her in a bid to clear her misunderstanding but SUET… SUET goes to her grandmother’s birthday banquet with her parents HUNG KWOK-WAI and SZE YUK-LAN, during which her grandmother means to mention LAN’s ex-husband NGOK and gives WAI the cold shoulder. CHUNG goes to practice fencing at the gymnasium, where he meets HONG and befriends him. MAN demotes KIN as his second assistant in order to humiliate him. The news has soon spread around the hospital and everyone who knows KIN feels sympathy for him……

KI would like to hold a celebration party for KIN but KIN does not seem to welcome the idea at all. Believing that KI is KIN’s girlfriend, YU gives KIN a good telling-off for his poor attitude towards KI. In order to pick up the necessary clinical knowledge of different specialties, CHUNG decides to make use of his rest time and do some practice in the Orthopedics Department. A huge host of distinguished guests have come to the grand opening of NGOK’s privately-run clinic. Noticing how KIN has tried to greet the guests one by one, YU shows a look of disgust while MAN starts to dislike him more and more. HONG would like to take part in a canoe expedition, which is objected by KIN at once. But ANG gives in to HONG’s persistent requests and finally lets him go in secret. CHUNG calls HONG up and is surprised to hear that the coach is not coming to take care of the lad……

YU witnesses a nurse being sexually harassed by a patient. She is about to intervene but is stopped by KA-MAN. What KA-MAN says seems to have inspired YU in some way. With his relentless efforts, CHUNG’s venipuncture techniques have improved a great deal, which is highly appreciated by his patient LAM SAM. LAN has not seen SUET for a couple of days. She is so worried about SUET that she decides to pay her a visit at the hospital, where she runs into YU. YU is actually her long-lost biological daughter. LAN tries to dig up more about YU from SUET, and SUET admits that she is well aware of YU’s identity. Without any favorable impression of the FANs, SUET insists that she has nothing to do with this family. Upon receipt of the complaint by CHIU, the Hospital Chief Executive decides to hold an urgent meeting, in which MAN shifts all the blame onto KIN. YU drives KIN back to her home for dinner……

While entering the ward, YU hears the nurses talking about the cleaner SZETO SHAN and her stories about the hospital being haunted. CHUNG brings his colleagues to his family-run restaurant to have hot-pot. CHUNG’s sister PUI-FUN asks him who on earth is his dream girl and the lad points out that it is YU who he has been wooing. LAN means to take the first-aid course hoping that this will give her more opportunities to get closer to YU. Upon KIN’s return home, ANG announces her decision to learn driving so that she can take better care of HONG later when he goes to study abroad. KIN cannot help snickering at her and he believes that ANG is most unlikely to pass the written test in the first place. Noticing how hard ANG is preparing for the driving test, YU offers her some useful tips on how to differentiate the various road signs. NGOK goes to the community hall to pick up YU, and is shocked to see her walking along with LAN……

When KIN is about to remove the tumor from SHAN’s frontal lope, a vascular bubble is discovered somewhere nearby. Although the operation turns out successful, KIN has once again failed to comply with the code of practice, which has seriously offended MAN. As a punishment, KIN is not allowed to take part in any kind of surgery for six months. YU learns from NGOK how he got to know KIN, following which she gets a totally different impression of the chap. ANG who has passed the written test urges YU to recommend a good driving instructor, which gives YU a bit of a headache. KIN returns to his dormitory and spots some medical books and notes on the desk. He draws an illustration on the notebook in response to the query and walks off afterwards. SUET comes back and is thrilled to see the illustration, which has cleared her doubts regarding the cerebrovascular system……

YIK and BEN gossip about SUET’s family background while having breakfast, which is accidentally overheard by the girl. YU asks SUET to accept the truth but SUET insists that WAI is her one and only father. PONG who catches SUET studying alone at the dormitory tries to please her in any way possible, which SUET finds very disgusting. KIN gives SUET special tutoring on Neurosurgery, which makes SUET trust him more and more. The two of them have finally become good friends. KIN discovers that his patient Uncle FOOK is experiencing an extremely high level of blood pressure during his follow-up appointment. KIN asks FOOK to stay in hospital for observation but the old chap turns him down straight away. YIK discovers that his son SIU-LUNG keeps wetting the bed. In order to look after LUNG in a better way, YIK applies for leave but is rejected and severely rebuked by KA-MAN. Filled with anger, YIK decides to hand in his resignation……

YU and CHUNG are both transferred to the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department to carry on with their practicum, which is a really pleasant surprise for CHUNG. Dr CHIN HO-TAK is so impressed with YU’s calmness and decisiveness during the surgery that he tries to convince her to choose the Cardiothoracic specialty as her long-term career. CHUNG invites YU home to watch an educational movie on Cardiothoracic surgery, but it turns out that… KI asks her colleagues to sign a petition against the punishment imposed on KIN, but KIN does not feel grateful at all and denies having a romantic relationship with KI. KIN and YU have dinner together, during which they spot the people at the next table playing with miniature cars. Through their conversation, they come to realize that the both of them are seriously into miniature vehicles. They suggest having a competition between themselves and they end up having great fun with that……

All the doctors and nurses have gone on a cruise to chill out. CHUNG tries to show his best side to YU but YU is only interested in how to patch up her relationship with SUET all through the trip. KIN gives YU an anchor-shaped pendant, which has come as a great surprise for the girl. She is so impressed with KIN’s thoughtfulness and generosity. On her way back to the hospital, YU runs into her long-lost friend TUNG-TUNG and the two of them exchange numbers straight away. While carrying out a check-up for LAU TAI-NGAN who is suffering from Parkinson’s disease, KIN discovers some unusual wounds on her arms. CHUNG and the rest of his colleagues discuss their future in a hot-pot gathering, during which YU and SUET both reveal their decision to become a neurosurgeon. CHUNG asks YU about her views on love and is thrilled to hear that she is not opposed to an intergenerational relationship. TUNG sends NGAN to hospital again……

KIN walks off in silence as soon as he sees CHUNG make a confession of love to YU. Unfortunately YU has no feelings for CHUNG and rejects him on the spot. YU means to wait for KIN at the restaurant preparing to express her love for him. But much to her disappointment, KIN does not seem to get her message at all. Dr LAM TAI-KWONG and the rest of the neurosurgeons sit down to discuss the upcoming brain surgery they need to carry out for NGAN, during which Dr LAM suggests putting KIN in charge of the operation. MAN has no choice but to agree with the suggestion. YU plucks up her courage to ask KIN out for dinner and KIN accepts her invitation without any hesitation. KIN runs into his ex-girlfriend YUEN-YING in the hospital. YU is on her way to meet KIN, but is shocked to see him and YING so close together……

The hospital staff start to gossip about the relationship between MAN, KIN and YING inside the common room. Having seen the wedding picture of MAN and YING, YU is a little shocked and becomes even more convinced that KIN and YING are having an affair. YING wears a face like thunder while waiting for MAN at home. MAN picks a quarrel with YING upon his return, and YING is so angry that she runs off at once. While discussing the forthcoming specialty selection, KIN advises YU to choose Cardiothoracic Surgery taking into account her character and strengths. KIN is about to carry out the brain operation for NGAN, and is warned by MAN not to make any more mistakes during the process. MAN is summoned to help with another urgent operation half way through NGAN’s surgery, leaving KIN alone to carry on with the surgical procedure……

MAN is astonished to learn from KIN that YING has got pregnant. MAN is so worried about YING’s health that he keeps persuading her to terminate her pregnancy. YING, however, is determined to keep the baby no matter what. Realizing that KIN is such a generous thoughtful gentleman, SUET is beginning to fall in love with him. YIK is resolved to further his studies for the sake of career advancement and tries to seek advice from KIN and BEN in respect of the research area. KIN and BEN are however very doubtful about his persistence. CHUNG means to test YU out to see if she is still in love with KIN, through which YU gets to know that KIN has paid so much effort in guiding her in her specialty selection. HONG does some shopping at the bookshop, where he runs into CHING-CHING who has come to look for her boyfriend……

SUET gets in a bad mood when she realizes that YU’s dream man is actually KIN. KIN is so puzzled that he goes to confide in BEN, but their conversation is overheard by CHUNG accidentally. TAI who has been living in the New Territories has come to the hospital to look for her grandson, although she has forgotten which department his grandson is working for. ON-TIK is transferred to the Neurosurgery Department in the rest of his practicum, but he is so careless with his work that KI and many other nurses are often required to do the remedial follow-up for him. KIN is not happy with DIK’s performance and gives him a good telling-off. MING-TAI brings TAI to the Neurosurgery Department to see DIK. TAI cannot bear to see her grandson being scolded in public and gives KIN a lecture straight away. KIN gets off work and runs into TAI again on his way back to the dormitory……

Following a detailed check-up, Dr HO advises that TAI’s condition is deteriorating and that she must undergo surgery to remove the thymoma. Upon receiving the bank loan approval, MING-TAI starts to pursue his long cherished dream. BEN and his flatmates return to the dormitory and are shocked to see DIK break down crying on the floor. DIK is so helpless and worried that he finally confides in his mates. The practicum will come to an end very soon and the housemen have all different goals to achieve. MING-TAI reveals to his mates his decision to set up a vehicle repair firm. KIN is welcome to join NGOK’s clinic anytime he likes, but he is most reluctant to leave behind his existing patients in Mercy Hospital. YU notices that KIN is in a bad mood, and can tell straight away that he is being caught in a dilemma between his existing patients and the offer provided by NGOK……

TAI is suffering from a persistent fever but DIK is just too busy to look after her. Luckily they have got SUET and CHUNG who offer to stay with TAI and take care of her on behalf of DIK. MING-TAI becomes a little hesitant about running the vehicle repair firm after being told off by KIN. The owner of the vehicle repair firm urges MING-TAI to carry out a final site inspection so that they can proceed to the official handover, during which a vehicle repairer gets injured all of a sudden. Luckily MING-TAI is there and he manages to give the guy emergency treatment just in time. DIK pays TAI a visit at the hospital before taking the Hippocratic Oath, and TAI looks incredibly energetic all through their conversation. Looking at her well-dressed grandson, TAI shows a big smile on her face and gives DIK a few words of praise. CHUNG and his mates have all become practicing doctors……

YIK gets a call from LUNG’s class teacher advising that the boy is injured and admitted to hospital. Dr TANG of the A&E Department suggests sending LUNG to the Neurosurgery Department for a detailed check-up. While eating together, YU tells SUET that NGOK is looking forward to having dinner with her again at home. Knowing that KIN will be coming too, SUET accepts the invitation right away. SUET discovers a pile of love letters from YU while looking for a compact disc inside KIN’s bedroom. The letters are nicely kept in a little box and have sparked horrendous jealousy in SUET straight away. CHUNG tells YIK that LUNG is in good condition but LUNG claims that he is still feeling unwell with a severe headache when YIK is about to leave. KA-MAN passes by the common room and is shocked to see LUNG enjoying a batch of snacks inside. HO YIU is on her way to the market but gets lost in the street all of a sudden……

SUET purposely reveals to YU her affection for KIN, which surprises YU no end. Following SUET’s confession of love, YU decides not to write any more letters to KIN. KIN, on the other hand, is going to take a step further with YU and is still looking forward to her letters. ANG goes to YIK’s apartment to do housework for him, during which KA-MAN suddenly turns up to pay LUNG a visit. It is not until then that ANG comes to realize that KA-MAN and LUNG have become such good friends. LAN accompanies YIU to the clinic for a detailed check-up and YIU is later diagnosed as having early dementia symptoms. Not wanting to cause the FANs any possible trouble, YIU renders her resignation as soon as she gets back home, which has come as a shocking surprise to NGOK and YU. ANG runs into CHING in the hospital and CHING is astonished to hear that HONG is in love with her. KIN encourages HONG to express his love to CHING……

KIN can no longer suppress his love for YU and decides to make a confession to her. Unfortunately SUET calls KIN up at the most critical moment, which has spoiled everything up. When BEN and YIK are discussing KIN’s romance inside the restaurant, the restaurant owner LEUNG FAI suddenly falls down to the ground and experiences a short period of paralysis. CHUNG learns from FAI’s medical reports that he is suffering from intervertebral disk herniation and will need to undergo surgery to have the problem fixed. But FAI becomes a little hesitant about receiving the operation when he knows that surgery will not solve his problem completely. YIK discovers that LUNG is on the phone all day. Believing that his son has got a little girlfriend, YIK becomes so worried. YU catches SUET expressing her love for KIN, following which YU becomes even more aloof from KIN. KIN would like to have a word with YU about their relationship……

SUET runs into KIN and YU inside the hospital lift, during which she urges KIN to answer in front of YU whether he is willing to accept her love. Embarrassed and uneasy, KIN is just unsure how to react. CHUNG asks YU why she went to consult a neurosurgeon the other day. YU has no choice but to reveal to him how she was diagnosed with intramedullary tumor. YIK and KA-MAN have made up with each other all because of LUNG. YIK invites KA-MAN over to his place for dinner, during which the pair have suddenly developed erotic feelings towards each other and start kissing. YING realizes that MAN has become so aloof recently. She hates this feeling so much that she finally asks MAN for an explanation. YU goes to pick CHUNG up after work. Along the way she feels an acute pain in the back all of a sudden. SUET encounters a patient with pericardial effusion while on duty……

Knowing that SUET has made a big mistake during the medical procedure, YU tries to intercede for her at once, but SUET does not show any gratitude and stomps off in a huff straight away. YU feels a sharp pain in the back and falls to the ground all of a sudden. Left with no other options, YU reluctantly reveals to SUET that an intramedullary tumor has been found in her spinal cord. The hospital management holds a special meeting to discuss SUET’s clinical negligence, but SUET fails to show up in the end, which infuriates the management even further. Desperate to protect her sister, YU claims that SUET has gone on leave as approved by her and Dr CHIN. SUET is going to resign and leave the medical field permanently, for which she gets a severe telling-off from BEN. Following a medical check-up for a male patient named HO, YU points out that the lad is unlikely to survive without a heart transplant……

Dr TANG of the A&E Department points out that HONG has fractured his skull in the accident and blood clots have also been found in his brain. MAN decides to carry out an urgent brain operation for HONG and needs KIN to act as his assistant during the surgery. When MAN has just cleared all the blood clots in HONG’s brain, HONG’s intracranial pressure is found to be going up at a high speed. ANG is completely unable to accept HONG’s death. She is so worked up that she falls down in a faint within seconds. The Organ Transplant Coordinator turns up suddenly informing KIN and ANG of HONG’s registration as an organ donor. Inspired by the death of HONG, YU finally decides to reveal her physical condition to her family. Not wanting to stay at home doing nothing at all, KIN chooses to go back to work. Patient LAM KIN is diagnosed with brain cancer……

SUET admits making a mistake and offers a sincere apology to both Dr CHIN and the patient affected. While performing surgery with MAN in the operating theatre, KIN is suddenly so overwhelmed with feelings of grief and fear that he dare not remove the patient’s skullcap. YU has not stopped writing to KIN, which makes SUET realize that she is still in love with him. YU learns from ANG that KIN has been suffering from insomnia for days. Not wanting him to go on like this, YU is going to lend a hand. BEN runs into his first girlfriend BONNIE in the hospital, who happens to be one of his newly admitted patients. BEN gets injured while dressing the wound for BONNIE. BONNIE remorsefully reveals that she is an HIV carrier, which shocks everyone around to the core. SUET who spots BEN drinking alone at the dormitory offers him a few words of consolation. BEN opens up to SUET and starts talking about his past romance with BONNIE……

Having read the latest letter from YU, KIN comes to realize that she has got an intramedullary tumor in her spinal cord. Reluctant to waste any more time, KIN plucks up the courage to propose to YU, but is rejected. YU invites all her colleagues to a lunch gathering at the common room, during which she offers to disclose her health problem. The news that BEN has been exposed to HIV at work has soon spread across the hospital. Fearing the threat of infection, HIU-YING and the rest of the nursing staff have all been avoiding BEN. SUET finds them so disgusting, and to show her support for BEN, she means to stay close with him. Knowing that CHUNG is so worried about the disciplinary hearing result, CHING offers to keep him company all night long. Looking at the sleeping CHING, CHUNG suddenly feels a crush coming up……

KIN and YU have finally become lovers and start dating the following day. YU is thrilled and touched to see that KIN has taken up driving again all because of her. They go to have dinner at a restaurant, in the course of which KIN discovers that he has dropped the lucky coin left by HONG. Despite KIN’s opposition, YU sneaks back to the park to look for the coin, where she suddenly loses balance and falls over. Following a detailed check-up, NGOK believes that YU needs to undergo surgery at once to have the tumor removed. Seeing YU being taken into the operating theatre, LAN and the rest of the family are all consumed with worry. While waiting for the pathological report, NGOK and KIN carry on with the surgery. NGOK is upset to learn that YU’s tumor is an astrocytoma and KIN is also enlightened to the fact that the tumor cells in YU cannot be removed completely. The two of them are soon plunged into a dark mood...

Mutated H5N1 is discovered in Hong Kong and everybody in the healthcare sector is very nervous. Doctor YEUNG PUI-CHUNG adores his good friend Doctor KAN CHING-CHING but CHING-CHING suddenly resigned last year. Two of his good friends persuade him to let go but PUI-CHUNG continues to buy daily commodities for CHING-CHING. The patient Grandma HA TUNG-MUI starts a quarrel with Doctor HUNG MEI-SUET for MEI-SUET takes away her chocolates before surgery. Doctor CHEUNG YAT-KIN helps her to settle the problem. On the wedding day of male head nurse LUI SIU-YIK and female head nurse TO KA-MAN, YAT-KIN and his pregnant wife Doctor FAN TZE-YU agreed to go together but YAT-KIN forgets to bring their gift. TZE-YU's younger sister MEI-SUET picks her up instead. Pathology consultant doctor LOK MAN-SAN reveals in a media interview that a tourist called Mr WONG is believed to be infected with the mutated H5N1……

MAN-SAN, his cousin MONICA and his good friend MOYUNG WAI open a coffee shop together. MOYUNG WAI persuades MAN-SAN to treat his illness as early as possible but MAN-SAN doesn't take it seriously. MAN-SAN discovers that his patient's tumor cell is in its 2nd phase already. Deputy consultant doctor CHONG BOK-MAN suggests him to perform an operation for the patient and he assigns MEI-SUET to be his immediate assistant. PUI-CHUNG, SHUI-WAH and two other friends join singles party together. The girls laugh at them and they are upset. MEI-SUET and BING-CHAN visit YAT-KIN to try his mother SIU-ANG's homemade soup. TZE-YU receives an urgent call from the hospital and YAT-KIN accompanies her to go back. CHIN-YEE looks for MONICA at the coffee shop. MOYUNG WAI and MAN-SAN reveal that MONICA is not in Hong Kong. HIU-TUNG returns from Australia and she works as a volunteer in the hospital. She believes that PUI-CHUNG's girlfriend is living abroad……

When TZE-YU sends the patient to the operation room, she suddenly falls down because of serious body pain. YAT-KIN worries that her disease is coming back. A man called CHAN KA-KWOK is sent to the hospital after an injury. When his girlfriend TONG MEI-BO is quarreling with him, KA-KWOK suddenly collapses. After giving birth to a baby, the doctor discovers a shadow in Mrs WONG's lung and she needs to have antibiotic injection. A group of new staffs arrive and BING-CHAN teaches them to know each other more with games. When MEI-SUET is having dinner with BING-CHAN, she teaches TZE-TING to sew the wound through online video call. PUI-CHUNG brings HEI-YAN to the rest room. He finds HIU-TUNG and SIU-ANG studying the recipes. He suggests HEI-YAN to learn cooking as well in order to become a real woman but HEI-YAN teases him in return. MEI-SUET asks TZE-TING to learn more from SHUI-WAH and TZE-TUNG is worried……

CHIN-YEE brings a self-made doll to the coffee shop and MAN-SAN recalls his sad memory. When MAN-SAN leaves hospital, he meets his deceased wife's younger sister SUEN MAN-YUET. MAN-YUET asks if he has met his daughter and MAN-SAN reveals that he doesn't know that his daughter has returned. TZE-YU's illness is back and TAI-KWONG suggests her to have electrotherapy as well as an induced abortion. KA-KWOK is not taking medicine on time and he has signs of paralysis. HON-PONG suggests YAT-KIN to follow up the case. SIU-YIK and his wife discover that HEI-YAN is running out secretly. When HEI-YAN is sent back to the hospital, she tries to run away again. YAT-KIN finds HEI-YAN unhappy and he chats with her. HEI-YAN reveals that her mother has died and her father doesn't care about her. After dreaming of his deceased younger brother YAT-HONG, YAT-KIN reveals to TZE-YU that he will support her decision to keep the baby……

TZE-YU and MEI-SUET's mother SZE YUK-LAN return to Hong Kong. YUK-LAN worries about TZE-YU and she decides to accompany her. HEI-YAN plays music and sing at MAN-SAN's office. MAN-SAN scolds her for not respecting others and HEI-YAN runs away tearfully. MAN-SAN discovers CHIN-YEE sleeping on a bench near the coffee shop. He sends her home and discovers that she is a medical student. Everybody exchange gifts during the party. All of them get baby stuffs and they decide to give them to TZE-YU. KA-KWOK pushes a patient and the patient collapses. CHIN-YEE performs first aid for the patient immediately. TZE-YU reveals to YAT-KIN that she decides to give up the baby and she asks YAT-KIN to take good care of himself. On the day of TZE-YU's operation, YAT-KIN is late. TZE-YU calls him and YAT-KIN reveals that he is not able to arrive on time for there is an accident in the operation he is performing...

After removing the tumor and stasis in KA-KWOK's brain, SHUI-WAH asks YAT-KIN to visit TZE-YU. When YAT-KIN arrives, TZE-YU's abortion is finished. KA-KWOK suffers from partial paralysis when he wakes up. MEI-BO claims that she will make a complaint to the Hospital Authority requesting that YAT-KIN's doctor license should be forfeited. PUI-CHUNG discovers that the seed given by TZE-YU is not able to grow healthily. HIU-TUNG comes to pick up some floral foam and she suggests methods to save the plant. HA LEI is ill and her husband SZE WING-KUNG brings her to the public hospital. HA LEI is upset that her husband didn't bring her to the private hospital for treatment. TAI-KWONG assigns CHIN-YEE to have her training at the internal medicine division. HA LEI is partially deaf and she fails to hear CHIN-YEE's words. YUK-LAN, MEI-SUET and BING-CHAN visit HA LEI together. HA LEI says that MEI-SUET doesn't know how to treat her illness……

MAN-SAN discovers CHIN-YEE helping WING-KUNG to find his ring from the rubbish bin and he appreciates it very much. MAN-SAN suspects that HA LEI's illness belongs to the ICC division and he asks YAT-KIN if he is confident to perform an operation for his relative... CHIN-YEE sends HA LEI's family photo to MAN-SAN. LI KA-FUN, houseman in the cardiothoracic surgery division, is mesmerized by her beauty at first sight. After having electrotherapy, TZE-YU vomits a lot. YAT-KIN suffers from gastric hemorrhage and he is sent to the hospital. When his mother and TZE-YU arrive, YAT-KIN refuses to see them. TZE-YU suspects that YAT-KIN is suffering from emotional illness and she asks BING-CHAN to check him out. SIU-YIK lies to his wife that he will be picking up their son but he asks SIU-BING to go instead and the police is alerted. TZE-YU tells HO-TAK that she want to resume her work and HO-TAK accepts her request. MOYUNG WAI is attracted by MAN-YUET and he chats her up. MAN-SAN believes that MOYUNG WAI and MAN-YUET will not be able to communicate with each other. SHUI-WAH admires PUI-CHUNG for performing his first major operation successfully. PUI-CHUNG reveals that he doesn't know what to do for TZE-TING is in love with him secretly. When chatting with each other, everybody discover that SHUI-WAH's new lover is TAI WING-SEE from the neurosurgery division……

MAN-SAN doesn't want FAN-SING to discover CHIN-YEE quarreling with her father so he brings FAN-SING to the coffee shop. HOI-CHING visits CHIN-YEE and reveals that CHUNG-PUI loves her very much. CHIN-YEE explains FAN-SING's illness to MAN-SAN. MAN-SAN asks CHIN-YEE if she wants to find FAN-SING's mother. TZE-YU offers medical consultation to SIU-BING and she suspects that SIU-BING has got problems with her sciatic nerve but SIU-BING doesn't believe it. SIU-ANG persuades CHIN-YEE to reconcile with her parents and CHIN-YEE reveals her feelings to her. TAI-KWONG reveals that the number of TZE-YU's cancer cells is slightly reduced only after electrotherapy and he doesn't recommend her to perform any operation. SIU-BING's legs are not able to move after the operation. SIU-YIK is enraged and he beats YAT-KIN. BING-CHAN persuades YAT-KIN to take a long leave but YAT-KIN refuses. MAN-SAN returns home and he is surprised to find MAN-YUET and HEI-YAN there. MAN-YUET reveals that she will stay at MOYUNG WAI's home temporarily until she finishes her book. TZE-TING and PUI-CHUNG go to dinner together. PUI-CHUNG is ashamed that he has misled TZE-TING. MEI-SUET scolds PUI-CHUNG after learning that TZE-TING has lost her love. PUI-CHUNG and SHUI-WAH discover TAI-KWONG in HIU-TUNG's home. TAI-KWONG even helps HIU-TUNG to wipe her mouth. Everybody suspect that TAI-KWONG and HIU-TUNG have special relationship. TAI-KWONG and MAN-SAN discuss about their daughters. TAI-KWONG suggests MAN-SAN to invite TZE-YU for dinner at home. TAI-KWONG's twin brother TAI-YUK is sent to the hospital and TAI-KWONG asks HO-TAK to arrange an operation for him. MAN-SAN tries to learn more about TAI-YUK's condition from CHIN-YEE. YAT-KIN wants to send TZE-YU home but TZE-YU says that she has dated SIU-ANG already. CHIN-YEE finds that Uncle KAM's fever continues after an injection and he has signs of mental disorder as well. TAI-YUK's condition is getting worse. HO-TAK asks TAI-KWONG to sign the DNR form to decide if they should rescue TAI-YUK……

TZE-YU fails to confirm if the tumor in Uncle KAM's body is cancer. MAN-SAN gives advice to her and he visits Uncle KAM's doctor with her. HIU-TUNG, PUI-CHUNG and TZE-TING go to TAI-YUK's office to find clues. PUI-CHUNG discovers from the Internet that KA-PIK committed suicide 30 years ago. It is confirmed that Uncle KAM has got a tumor in his body and HIU-TUNG thinks that this is not coincidental. TAI-KWONG still insists not to rescue TAI-YUK. Somebody replies to HIU-TUNG's message regarding KA-PIK's death on the Internet. SHUI-WAH and the others suspect that the one who replied is a ghost. TZE-YU continues her research during holidays and YUK-LAN worries that she will be overloaded. MAN-SAN passes a new case to TZE-YU. TZE-YU gets the key point immediately from the photo and MAN-SAN is satisfied. YAT-KIN discovers his wife's note from the locker inviting him to meet up. YAT-KIN doesn't agree with TZE-YU's decision to work in another division but SIU-YIK and BING-CHAN believe that she has consulted HO-TAK already. Uncle KAM complains that the doctor's operation has aroused his horrible memory in the past and he claims that he wants to die. HIU-TUNG wants to meet up with the one who replied to her message on the Internet. SHUI-WAH and the others want to give PUI-CHUNG a chance to rescue her. HIU-TUNG discovers that the one who replied is KA-PIK. KA-PIK reveals the truth to her. YAT-KIN suggests performing an operation for TAI-YUK. HIU-TUNG uploads a story called " The Faceless Man's Adventures" on the Internet. After reading it, CHIN-YEE tells FAN-SING the story. YAT-KIN discovers that PUI-CHUNG is trying to contact HIU-TUNG and he comments that PUI-CHUNG is in love. MAN-YUET is inspired by the story of Faceless Man and she goes to the hospital to do voluntary works with MOYUNG WAI. MOYUNG WAI and MAN-YUET watch JUSTIN's dance practice together. JUSTIN has got a headache after dancing. Another dancer AMBER also feels sick after dancing. MEI-SUET and BING-CHAN discover that AMBER is trying to get an injection and they stop her. YUK-LAN explains that AMBER was a medical student and she is BING-CHAN's schoolmate. BING-CHAN worries that his girlfriend will be upset and he reveals his past story with AMBER to her. MAN-YUET plays trick to break the ice between CHIN-YEE and her parents. JUSTIN suddenly collapses while performing at the hospital……

JUSTIN's astrocytoma is malignant and it is not possible to remove it completely. JUSTIN is going to join a contest and he doesn't want to have electrotherapy. TZE-YU consoles JUSTIN by sharing her own experiences with him. MAN-SAN invites TZE-YU to the countryside on Sunday. CHIN-YEE learns from the hospital that FAN-SING's condition is getting worse. FAN-SING's doctor SO KIT reveals that a liver transplant is necessary. MEI-SUET suspects that AMBER has diabetes but she would not go for a body check. YUK-LAN suggests discussing the matter with BING-CHAN. CHIN-YEE decides to look for FAI at Guangxi and PUI-CHUNG offers to help taking care of FAN-SING. YAT-KIN visits JUSTIN. He discovers that JUSTIN's father doesn't care about his son's cancer and he even borrows money from YAT-KIN for entertainments. JUSTIN collapses after the contest and he is sent to the hospital……

MONICA informs MAN-SAN that she has returned to Hong Kong. She reveals that FAI has died in a traffic accident. YAT-KIN finds TZE-YU sitting expressionlessly and he goes to console her. TZE-YU reveals tearfully that she is very scared of her cancer. MAN-SAN discovers CHIN-YEE meeting up with MONICA and he tries to approach them but YAT-KIN suddenly beats him. TZE-TING is transferred to PUI-CHUNG's Cardiothoracic Division. TZE-TING is keeping an eye on PUI-CHUNG all the time and she almost makes mistakes. SHUI-WAH reveals to BING-CHAN that a shadow is found in AMBER's brain and he wonders if a brain operation is required. HON-PONG wants YAT-KIN to face his weaknesses by showing him the video of JUSTIN's operation performed by him. AMBER suffers from back pain and he wants to have a body check. BING-CHAN blames SHUI-WAH for giving a wrong judgment on AMBER's condition and he requests SHUI-WAH to pass the case to MEI-SUET……

YAT-KIN apologizes to MAN-SAN. He reveals that he will try to accept TZE-YU's decision even if she wants to break up or living separately. MAN-SAN goes jogging with his daughter. HEI-YAN suddenly collapses. SO KIT reveals that HEI-YAN has got problems with her heart. MAN-SAN blames MAN-YUET for not telling him that his daughter is ill. MAN-SUET accuses MAN-SAN for abandoning his daughter long time ago. MEI-SUET suspects that AMBER is pretending to be sick. She believes that AMBER is suffering from Munchausen syndrome. A party is hold to celebrate HON-PONG's promotion. SIU WING receives a call from the hospital. She needs to return to the hospital urgently since they fail to find ON-DIK. SHUI-WAH tells MEI-SUET that AMBER's doctor also suspects that she is suffering from Munchausen syndrome. MEI-SUET agrees but BING-CHAN doesn't believe that AMBER will harm herself and he asks her to stop investigation. MAN-SAN goes to the beach with his daughter and MAN-YUET. HEI-YAN knows that her father always misses her mother and she asks MAN-YUET to forgive him. HOI-CHING introduces the top student SHUM WAN-KAM to MAN-YUET. WAN-KAM wants to be a writer and she admires MAN-YUET very much. WAN-KAM collapses and she is sent to the hospital. Some bubbles are discovered in WAN-KAM's lungs. WAN-KAM's doctor TSEUNG YING-WO says that she has got a tumor in her brain. WAN-KAM wants to know the details but YAT-KIN stops her. YING-WO is upset about it. HEI-YAN invites TZE-YU to her home with excuse. She asks TZE-YU if she knows how to console MAN-SAN and MAN-SAN is embarrassed……

MAN-SAN reveals that her daughter's disease is a complicated one. TAI-KWONG suggests him to perform the operation. SIU-YIK reveals his family situation to YAT-KIN. YAT-KIN suggests SIU-YIK to transfer to another division. When YING-WO and TZE-YU tell WAN-KAM about her illness, they suggest her to discuss it with her family members but WAN-KAM says that she can handle it by herself. CHIN-YEE falls asleep in the living room when there is a leakage of petroleum gas. Luckily, MAN-SAN rescues her. MEI-SUET reveals that SHUI-WAH has helped her to investigate AMBER's medical history from the USA. YUK-LAN and TZE-YU worry that this will affect MEI-SUET and BING-CHAN's relationship. MOYUNG WAI suddenly feels dizzy and the doctor suspects that he has got a brain tumor. MAN-YUET urges him to have a body check but MOYUNG WAI doesn't take it seriously. MAN-YUET reveals that she will dance with MOYUNG WAI if he agrees to treat his illness……

MEI-SUET starts a quarrel with BING-CHAN because of AMBER and she wants to separate with him temporarily. SIU-YIK says that BING-CHAN is too indecisive. YAT-KIN says that BING-CHAN's main problem is that he was not honest to MEI-SUET. NGOK HO-BIU, the patient treated by both MEI-SUET and TZE-TING before, suddenly feels sick. HO-TAK says that the four stents placed in HO-BIU's heart in a previous operation are all blocked and a bypass operation on the next day is necessary. However, HO-BIU requests him to postpone the operation for a few days. PUI-CHUNG is inspired by HO-BIU's case and he decides to declare his love to HIU-TUNG again. MOYUNG WAI and MAN-YUET perform together in the hospital. After the performance, they invite CHIN-YEE and MAN-SAN to perform together. MAN-SAN reveals to CHIN-YEE that many people around are supporting her and he reminds her not to indulge in the pain of losing her lover FAI……

MOYUNG WAI's operation is successful. TZE-YU waits for YAT-KIN outside the operation room and she invites him to have dinner with SIU-ANG at home as a celebration. The guys at Rm Gen-Y ask BING-CHAN to buy caviar for celebration with YAT-KIN. All of them are not pleased that AMBER is moving in and they feel angry for MEI-SUET. HEI-YAN posted the photo of MAN-SAN and CHIN-YEE's performance on the notice board of the patient's resource centre. MAN-SAN finds it embarrassing. AMBER suffers from meningitis as a result of joint infection. She is very scared and she reveals to BING-CHAN that she is willing to visit a psychiatrist. MEI-SUET is recommended to be in charge of AMBER's operation and BING-CHAN requests to perform AMBER's orthopedic operation. SIU WING worries that MEI-SUET cannot handle it. AMBER wakes up and BING-CHAN reveals that MEI-SUET has performed the operation successfully……

MEI-SUET sends email to BING-CHAN to request for a separation and she wishes that they could be friends afterwards. MAN-YUET picks up MOYUNG WAI from the hospital. MAN-SAN and CHIN-YEE arrive together. MOYUNG WAI invites CHIN-YEE to MAN-SAN's birthday party and he reminds her to bring a gift. CHING-LOK chats with MAN-YUET. She tells her how much MAN-SUN loved and cared about MAN-SAN. She also reveals that she and MAN-SUN were fond of MAN-SAN at the same time. MAN-SAN visits CHIN-YEE but HIU-TUNG opens the door. MAN-SAN discovers the wedding invitation of CHIN-YEE and FAI. HIU-TUNG reveals that CHIN-YEE has gone for a farewell ceremony. CHIN-YEE receives a call from the hospital. Doctor SO reveals that FAN-SING has got a liver failure. CHIN-YEE asks why FAN-SING's mother is not able to donate her liver to him and FAN-SING's mother says that she is a Hepatitis carrier. BING-CHAN resorts to alcohol and he receives a call from TZE-TING……

HUNG-HUNG visits FAN-SING at the hospital. When she leaves, MAN-YUET chases after her. HUNG-HUNG reveals that she doesn't have the courage to donate her liver to FAN-SING since she has her own family already. MOYUNG WAI tells MAN-YUET and CHIN-YEE that MAN-SAN is suffering from leukemia but he doesn't want to visit the doctor. CHIN-YEE asks MAN-SAN to treat his illness and MAN-SAN finally agrees. SIU-LUNG hurts his head accidentally and he is sent to the hospital. FAN-SING finds him unhappy and he draws him a picture. FAN-SING is sent to the Intensive Care Unit. SO KIT reminds CHIN-YEE to be prepared for the worst. KWUN wants to have a blood check to determine if he could donate his liver to FAN-SING. CHIN-YEE finally realizes that FAI had sacrificed his life to save KWUN. She tries to persuade HUNG-HUNG to help FAN-SING once again. YAT-KIN and TZE-YU visit Sister YIU's home……

BING-CHAN buys many snacks for SIU-ANG and TZE-YU because Sister YIU suddenly wants to try all the hidden good food in Hong Kong. TZE-YU asks BING-CHAN to organize the wedding ceremony in “East meets West” style. TAI-KWONG gets along well with MING-FONG and HIU-TUNG discovers it. BING-CHAN says that he is organizing a wedding ceremony for his cousin and he asks TAI-KWONG to lend him a gift for the bride. TAI-KWONG asks PUI-CHUNG to repair the chain watch before lending it to BING-CHAN. He tells PUI-CHUNG that if he fails to repair the chain watch, he should not see HIU-TUNG again. MAN-YUET sends the manuscript of her new book to BING-CHAN. It is a romantic fantasy and she hopes to bring happiness to the couple. MOYUNG WAI arrives in formal suit for he wants to declare his love to MAN-YUET……

HEI-YAN has got a fever and she is sent to the hospital. MAN-YUET blames herself for not stopping HEI-YAN to make paper cranes for FAN-SING for the whole night. HO-TAK, SO KIT and PUI-CHUNG carry out investigation together. They reveal to MAN-SAN that HEI-YAN might be suffering from a heart failure and she needs an operation urgently. MAN-SAN tells his daughter that he has made a request for transferring back to Cardiothoracic Division so that he could support her. CHIN-YEE looks for MAN-SAN at the harbour and she encourages him to have confidence in himself. TZE-YU is stuck when investigating the disease and YAT-KIN encourages her. MAN-SAN performs an operation for his daughter but his daughter's condition is getting worse during the operation. TZE-YU plays a video of MAN-SAN teaching little HEI-YAN to sing. MAN-SAN tries to encourage HEI-YAN by speaking to her softly. CHIN-YEE visits HIU-TUNG……

On TZE-TING's birthday, MING-TAI prepares breakfast for her and all guys tease him. MAN-SAN explains HIU-TUNG's situation to TAI-KWONG. TAI-KWONG reveals that a tumor was discovered in her daughter's brain when she was 16 years old. BOK-MAN performed an operation for her but part of the tumor is still there. SIU-ANG discovers from the notebook that HIU-TUNG has booked the activity room in the resource centre and she decides to help her there. However, she discovers that HIU-TUNG is actually organizing a ceremony for herself. Since PUI-CHUNG wants to use the activity room, HIU-TUNG decides to have the ceremony at TAI-KWONG's office instead. PUI-CHUNG and the others are having fun in the party. BING-CHAN accidentally turns on the slide projector and they discover HIU-TUNG and her friends' photos on the screen. HIU-TUNG reveals to PUI-CHUNG that her disease has returned……
