Discuss Once Upon a Time

Personal Update:

Pros:

Good beginning/cold open. The visuals are slightly sharper than they have been previously in the show, however, the water and green screen still seems a little mediocre. The guy who plays Hook's brother is not the best actor on this show, he seemed bored and it took away from the scene.

The first scene between Jasmine and Aladdin seemed very in character, and (not counting the flashbacks) I enjoyed their presence, up until their end where the writers tied it up with a good conclusion for both of the characters and the strongest visuals of 6B so far.

Glad the writers remembered Jafar. He is an entertaining villain.

I liked the comedy in the episode, it was a good balance between campy and sweet, without being too cringeworthy.

I always like the character dynamics in certain scenes.

Occasionally, the script surprises me with its wit.

The ending was generally good.

Cons:

The kraken scenes.

The flashbacks were unnecessary, and felt forced. Jasmine could've just explained the events.

I didn't see the purpose of Ariel, although Joanna Garcia Swisher plays her impeccably.

I did not like Hook's moodiness.

Regina therapy. It didn't feel natural. I feel the whole bar scenes were dragged out as well, as well as other scenes. It was a very slow-moving episode in its entirety, and did not entice me except for a few scenes. This episode mostly felt as one that could just finish a bunch of certain plot threads so they can continue the story without the supporting cast.

Awakening Jafar was stupid, among annoying or dumb dialogue.

Both Cons and Pros:

The scene between the mixologist/bartender and Emma. There were flaws in it, and yet I think mostly I got positive feelings from the scene.

The Gideon twist.

Notes:

I guess there are keeping the OUATIW events canon, with Jafar in the bottle.

I love Aesop's Tables, just the name! This show is good whenever it plays upon lore.

It felt mostly just to tie up a bunch of plot threads the author wanted to get rid of.

6/10

I agree with what you said also finaly a mentiom on tha land of untold stories now we know thier still there just wandering in town with no importance at all

I'll give this episode a 5/10

I liked it for the most part, but this back half of the season is still lagging for me. I enjoyed seeing some old faces again and was happy to see them finally using Jafar. I'm not a fan of the actors who play Aladdin and Jasmine, so they were the low point for me. The high point was the end with Emma and Killian talking to each other over sea shell. I'd give the episode a 6/10. Not the best, but better than the last couple I've seen. The special effects are getting really bad though, and that's saying something because they've always been cheesy.
