Extra Details: Both the comic Genshiken: Second Season (げんしけん 二代目) and its animated TV series adaptation are officially considered sequels to/reboots of the original Genshiken, not literally a second season. The Genshiken TV series already has an actual second season, titled Genshiken 2 (げんしけん2).

There was a 4-year gap between the two comic series, and a 6-year gap between the animated adaptations of each.
