Entertaining to watch, but I wouldn't trust him enough to hang out with him.

Frank is a narcissist (and a sociopath). He set up Butterface to die so he could get her money; thankfully that did not work out for him. He almost completely lacks empathy. Frank can pick up on social cues and can "fake it" when necessary. Aside from looking "normal," the hope is that he will get something back. In truth Frank doesn't even consider the pain he inflicts on others. He doesn't give any credence to the perceptions, thoughts or feelings of others which conflict with his own. He is a narcissist. A narcissist is like a toddler who never learned he is not the center of the world and becomes enraged when others don't meet his immediate demands.

A good time Charlie type of happy drunk is one thing, even an irresponsible drunk. But Frank is something else entirely. He betrays everyone close to him and always shifts the blame to others. He is a conman. His young children love him and even they realize he cannot be trusted.

He is a terrible father. He seldom feels or displays affection for his children. When he does show affection for one of them it is because they helped him get something he wants. The first time I recall seeing him consider someone else above himself was when he took the sole blame for a B&E and shielded Carl. Lip witnessed this and was shocked almost speechless. Of course this followed Carl giving him shelter and booze when nobody else would. I am only up to season 4. I am watching this on Netflix, not on regular TV.

Anyone who trusts Frank is in for a let-down, if not an outright betrayal. I am surprised Lip or Ian don't give Frank a beating more often than they do.

I am into season 6 now where Frank is telling Debbie to make sexual moves on Mr. Wexler. Frank is such a disgusting person it is hard to watch him sometimes.

I am still waiting for the family to discover that it was Frank who tipped off the police who busted Carl and the fat kid for heroin. And this after Frank told Carl to make that fat kid mule the several pounds of heroin. All this so Frank could try to get his psycho daughter Sammi out of his life. Frank doesn't give a damn about the pain and suffering he causes his own kids. I am betting that somehow they are going to find out about what he did. Then he will be in for it. lol
