Animal manager Jeremy is in Paris, collecting a baby orang-utan called Lingga who will be joining Monkey World’s ever-expanding orang crèche. In Paddy’s chimp group, all hell breaks loose over a giant fruity freeze. And Alison says her goodbyes to Julio, the woolly monkey she hand-reared from birth.

Confident young orang-utan Lingga has arrived from Paris. An operation on chimp Bryan’s teeth reveals the damage caused by his traumatic past life. Stump-tailed macaque Koko needs a helping hand from animal manager Jeremy.

New orang-utan Lingga meets her housemates, but young Joly is consumed by jealousy. In the chimp bachelor pad, a pile of blankets brings out Buxom’s greedy side. And chimpanzee Jimmy has a very serious leg wound.

This special edition travels to Vietnam, where Monkey World is embarking on an exciting new project – its first foreign sanctuary for endangered primates. A new gibbon rescue centre is being built to protect these rare animals for the future.

Work begins on the new gibbon rescue centre in Vietnam – and not a moment too soon, as the first primates are already arriving to begin their rehabilitation. Back on home soil, there is the patter of tiny feet in Paddy’s chimpanzee group, while members of the bachelor chimp group fall out once again.

It is a day of tense introductions for the chimpanzees and the gibbons; and the team begins work on its biggest mission to date – the rescue of almost 100 primates from Chile.

The new baby woolly monkey meets its own kind for the very first time. There is some growing up to be done as orang-utan Aris graduates from the nursery and meets Gordon. And there is a surprise in the chimp nursery as the cheeky Seamus seems to have learned to control his wild side.

Seamus’ brief period of calm comes to an abrupt end. Elsewhere, chimp Susie takes her new baby outside for the first time; and there are problems with the travel arrangements for the Chile trip.

It is a vet day at the park, as John Lewis checks up on the leg that chimp Jimmy nearly lost. Baby chimp Rodders, meanwhile, must have a tooth removed after sustaining an injury during a play session; and there is a serious problem with the park’s biggest-ever rescue mission.

It is a big day for one of the park’s naughtiest residents, chimpanzee Seamus. He is moving from the chimp nursery into the bachelor pad. Toddler orang-utan Aris is in recovery, and one of his new housemates has decided to pick a fight with him. And what happens when Seamus meets his former partner in crime, Carli?

This special edition travels to Chile, South America, where the team has joined forces with the military to fly 88 Capuchin monkeys to Monkey World. It will be the park’s biggest and most challenging rescue ever. And for the four capuchins already living at the park, they have no idea that their lives will soon change forever.

The Chilean capuchins finally arrive in the UK, and there is bad news in the orang-utan house. Something has gone seriously wrong for Aris since his knee operation.

Aris is still poorly; the baby woolly monkey finally gets a name; and the alpha male chimps exert their authority. But could there be a coup brewing?

Eighty-eight capuchin monkeys rescued from a research laboratory in Chile wake up to their first morning at Monkey World. Over in the Chimp nursery, Rodders has a run-in with a sticky melon. And the park’s naughtiest resident, Seamus the chimp, comes face to face with alpha male Butch in the bachelor pad.

Chimps Ben and Pip are due to be moved out of the nursery and into Hananya’s group – but they give wildlife vet John Lewis the run around when he tries to sedate them. Alison is worried about how the recently rescued male capuchins will react when they are moved in together. And orang-utan Kai proves she has far too much energy for the rest of her group.

The team is forced to step in when the chimp introduction goes wrong and Ben is injured by the alpha male. Orang-utan Hsiao-Quai struggles with her ever-growing son Kai. And the park’s staff prepare to welcome another baby orang-utan into the fold.

Hananya shows that he is not so tough when it comes to needles! The other chimps, meanwhile, enjoy a ‘banana-fishing’ expedition. Elsewhere, Alison and Jeremy are in Hertfordshire to re-home two more capuchin monkeys, and there is an exciting development among the endangered gibbons.

Resident capuchin TJ joins the new Chile arrivals, but he seems to be in a mischievous mood. Alpha male chimp Paddy has to step in and keep his unruly troop in line. Orang-utan Amy is pregnant, but no one knows if she will able to care for her baby when it is born. And it is teeth-cleaning time in Hananya’s house.

The team must make a big decision concerning the safety of one of the chimp groups when alpha male Hananya continues to exhibit violent behaviour. Elsewhere, chimps Simon and Eveline have a swing-off, and there is some dental surgery to be done. There is great excitement as the park gets ready for its next woolly monkey birth.

Baby chimp Bart goes it alone. The fearless members of the Bachelor Boys group are frightened by a new toy! In Hananya’s group, Ben and Pip finally pluck up the courage to fully explore their new home. And it is all change for the Chilean capuchin monkeys as they are introduced to the outside world for the first time in their lives.

There is a morning sing-off at the park to get everyone up for the day. Golden-cheeked gibbon Zoey introduces a very rare new addition to her family. Winter grips the park, and the chimps make snowballs in the icy weather. But one of the park’s best loved primates is extremely ill, and Jeremy is very worried about Charlie. As Charlie’s condition goes downhill and the big freeze sets in, Jeremy keeps an all-night vigil. But will Charlie make it through the night?

In a Vietnam special, Alison travels to Monkey World’s sister sanctuary, Dao Tien, the site of pioneering rescue and rehabilitation work with golden-cheeked gibbons. Director, Marina calls in human doctors for ground-breaking eye surgery on a gibbon Mika. And, there’s trouble when the team try to rescue a rare silvered langur monkey.

Snow and ice keep most of the primates indoors, and hot jacket potatoes and flu jabs for the chimps keep the winter chills away. But over at the woolly monkey house, an unexplained accident means a desperate fight for life, for baby Raúl.

Chimp Kiki finally arrives at the park after a mammoth journey from the Middle East. There’s great excitement at the gibbon house with news of Zoey’s new arrival. And leader Paddy has his hands full at bedtime after squabbles break out in his group of chimps.

New arrival Kiki meets her first chimpanzee Patricia after living on her own in a cage in Lebanon for the last eight years. Animal Director, Jeremy, decides to find out exactly how much weight orang-utan Oshine has lost since she came to the park from South Africa. Alison rescues Ruby, a marmoset with attitude and a bit of a weight issue. She has been well cared for but this free ranging marmoset needs company of her own kind. Back at the park there’s a group of primates who’ve had a weight problem in the past, but life is now blossoming for the residents at the stumpie house. Orphan orangutan babies Rieke and Bulu Mata discover the ups and downs of life in the nursery and after some renovations at Hananya’s chimpanzee enclosure, its young Thelma who leads the way.

The primate care staff suspect golden-cheeked gibbon Kim is about to give birth but after several hours and no change in her condition the vet is called in. It’s a tense time when Kim has to undergo an emergency cesarean. Aging saki monkey Jethro gets a surprise when new companion Chloe arrives from France but it seems Jethro isn’t the romantic type. At Levar’s woolly monkey enclosure there are treats on offer, pine cones packed with raisins, nuts and seeds and its all gone nuts in Franco’s capuchin group.

Ruby the parks newest and largest marmoset gets introduced to males Jock and Colin, but it doesn’t go to plan. The primate care team have noticed that Lola a chimpanzee in Paddy’s group is having problems with her sight and start training her to allow a close up examination. She is diagnosed as having cataracts and the team need to decide if she should have an operation. At orangutan Tuan’s enclosure they get a special breakfast of fruit and jelly and RoRo’s left with the washing up.

Alison calls in a specialist eye surgeon to perform the cataract operation on Lola the chimpanzee, Mr Bray normally operates on humans so it’s a unique experience for man and ape. Only time will tell if the operation has been successful. Elsewhere in the park, young chimpanzee Thelma is a willing pupil when it comes to clicker training and baby orangutans Rieke and Bulu Mata get to explore the big kid’s playroom in the nursey for the first time.

There’s two new arrivals at the park; a baby woolly monkey for experienced mum Xingu, and dad Oaska and Alison’s been to Wales to collect a new squirrel monkey called Azzi who was being kept as a pet. Over at Paddy’s enclosure, Lola has been recovering from her cataract operation and the primate care team decide it’s time for her to rejoin her chimpanzee group. And it’s round two for marmoset Ruby as she is introduced to Oscar, the parks smallest marmoset.

Woolly monkey Oaska has sadly passed away. He was suffering from spinal arthritis and his condition had deteriorated dramatically, the primate care team made the difficult decision to put him to sleep. With no natural successor in the group it’s decided to move Chippy in with them as he is a proven leader. Over at the orangutan nursery Bulu Mata and Reike are having another big day as they go into the outside enclosure for the first time and new arrival Azzi is introduced to fellow squirrel monkey Charlie.

The park has rescued another monkey originating from the UK Pet Trade, Alison has been to collect Dino the capuchin. Bringing Dino to the park is just the first step and now the hard work begins introducing him to others of his own kind. Another recent arrival, Ruby the marmoset has settled in well with companion Oscar and it’s weigh in day for the pair followed by fruit kebabs to get them moving. Chimpanzee Jestah has a skin condition that seems to be bothering him so the primate care staff begin clicker training so they can treat the problem, with surprising results.

There’s shocking news from Hananya’s chimpanzee group, Tikko has died. His death has come as a blow to the whole group, and to the primate care team. Recent arrival Azzi has become friends with squirrel monkey Samantha and it’s time for her to experience the outside enclosure for the first time. But Azzi misses out on the treats dotted around the enclosure as she decides to hide in a bush. However in the same enclosure is saki monkey Chloe, another recent arrival who gets stuck in to the sticky jelly treat.

Capuchins Dino and Winslow are getting on well after being introduced a few weeks ago. It’s now time for them to be introduced some females and for Dino this is a whole new experience. Woolly monkey Paulo has some big shoes to fill as he promoted to dominant male in Chippy’s old group. He still has a lot of growing up to do but the primate care staff hope he will be successful in his new role. And elderly Lar gibbon Ella’s cataracts have got to the stage where they are affecting her quality of life.

Elderly gibbon Ella is on the operating table; eye surgeon Mr Bray and his team are going to try and give her back her sight and quality of life. It’s a very difficult procedure on such a small patient, and there are some nervous onlookers in the room. Over at the orangutan nursery it’s pomegranates and marmite for Hsiao-Quai, Jin and Awan and Jin has got this licked. While indoors big brother Kai is being trained to walk into a traveling crate for his impending move. And the squirrel monkey and saki enclosure gets a makeover.

Wildlife vet John Lewis visits the park to give squirrel monkey Samantha a full health check but there’s concern when he discovers a large mass in her abdomen. At the gibbon house, it’s been 48 hours since elderly lar gibbon Ella underwent cataract surgery and the primate care staff have already noticed a remarkable change in her. While over at the orangutan nursery there’s a special delivery of jackfruit for Hsiao-quai and her three off-spring, but unknown to them it signals Kai’s last day at Monkey World.

It’s a sad farewell to orangutans Kai, Lingga and Joly as they head for a new life in Spain. But before their journey can begin the primate care staff have to get them into their traveling crates. For Lingga and Joly this involves an anaesthetic and wildlife vet John Lewis is on hand to make sure things go smoothly. Over at Hananya’s chimpanzee troop they’ve been a bit subdued since the loss of Tikko so the primate care staff have been keeping them busy and todays treat involves solving a puzzle. And the lemurs are given some frozen delights.

It’s the start of a new life for orangutans Kai, Lingga and Joly when they arrive at a wildlife park in Spain. Monkey World animal manager Jeremy has travelled with them to ensure their welfare while on the road and to settle them into their new home. Jeremy has known these orangutans for over 10 years and helps the new keepers get to know their characters. But what will Kai, Lingga and Joly think of the neighbours.

Alison comes to the rescue of two pet trade marmosets; both of which have celebrity names. Chuck Norris is first to be collected from a flat in central London and then Alison heads to High Wycombe to collect Sid Vicious, it’s hoped these marmosets can live together when they get back to the park. The primate care staff try and make every day interesting for the primates; at the spider monkey enclosure Toby is using hidden treats to get his lethargic charges working for their breakfast, and Cat tries to find a way for the golden cheeked gibbons to keep cool.

Orangutans Kai, Lingga and Joly are settling down at their new home in Spain but with Jeremy’s time there coming to an end, will they be brave enough to venture outside? Back at the park, newly arrived marmosets Chuck and Sid are introduced but there’s a surprise in store for Alison when she gets a closer look at Sid. Golden cheeked gibbon Mikado has become a bolshy teenager so the park needs a plan for his future and over at the lemur enclosure they go potty for parsley!

Marmosets Sid and Chuck have their health checks and wildlife vet John Lewis performs a delicate operation on Chuck, as it was recently discovered Sid is actually a girl. During Sid’s health check an X-ray is taken to get a clearer idea of the extent of her mobility problems. Golden cheeked gibbon Mikado undergoes crate training to help with his upcoming house move. Baby woolly monkey Olivia shows of her skills as she becomes more independent while the rest of the group tuck into grapes on the vine.

In part one of our Vietnam special we travel to Monkey World’s sister sanctuary, Dao Tien, which was set up to rescue and rehabilitate endangered Vietnamese primates. The Dao Tien team rescue two pygmy loris stolen from the forest but their health check gives cause for concern. The sanctuary’s mission is to return primates to the wild but for one of the recused loris it may not be possible. And golden cheeked gibbon Binh receives a contraceptive implant in preparation for her move to the semi-free enclosure.

In part two of our Vietnam special we travel to Monkey World’s sister sanctuary, Dao Tien, which was set up to rescue and rehabilitate endangered Vietnamese primates. Orphan golden cheeked gibbons Vang and Hoi have been hand reared at the sanctuary for the last 6 months and it’s time for them to be introduced to a big sister who can teach them how to become wild gibbons. Wildlife vet Savvy has to operate on Pedro the loris as his leg wound has become infected. But for Linn the loris it’s a big night out as he is released back into the wild.

It’s a massive day for three adolescent golden cheeked gibbons. Mikado, Teo and Zak leave their families to form the parks first ever bachelor gibbon group. It’s a tense day for the staff and primates as the three gibbons have to be tempted into their traveling crates. Elsewhere in the park, Sammy the marmoset’s health is causing concern so vet Dave Harding is called in to perform an ultrasound. And its bed time for Hananya’s chimps, but little Thelma just wants to play.

In the last of this series of Monkey Life; baby orangutans Rieke and Bulu Mata have a special play date with the rest of the nursery residents. For the first time they meet adult female Hsiao-Quai and her six year old son Jin, who can be a bit of a tough nut. It’s another step towards Rieke and Bulu Mata being integrated into the orangutan nursery. Golden cheeked gibbons Mikado, Teo and Zak discover what it’s like to hang out with the boys. And life is sweet for the bachelor chimps when the primate care staff give them papier mache balls.

Alison rediscovers a chimp she and Jim first tried to rescue from a circus in Thailand fifteen years ago, and makes a vow to do everything she can to rescue Naree. While Lar gibbon, Kitty is still causing the gibbon team concern so vet Dave is called in to examine her again. And Hananya’s chimp group try camellia flowers for the first time.

Alison and Jeremy travel to Thailand to rescue female chimp Naree, who Jim and Alison first found 15 years ago. It’s an exciting and nervous time for Alison who can’t wait to get Naree back to the park to start her new life, but first she needs to be sedated for the long journey back to Monkey World. While back at the park the saki monkeys get a tasty treat and with new climbing equipment in the enclosure baby woolly monkey Cosmo makes a leap of faith.

Chimpanzee Naree arrives safely from Thailand but it’s an emotional time for Alison after 15 years of waiting. First introductions with Bryan’s group don’t go to plan when chimp Rodders has a strop but Naree only wants to make friends. Vet Dave examines saki monkey Tutu and it’s not good news for the primate care staff while Alison has to step in and play mum for a new-born baby loris. And it’s a fur rubbing frenzy at the capuchin enclosure.

Chimp Naree sees the big outdoors for the first time, joining her new friends Bryan and Lulu in the large enclosure. Baby orang-utan Hujan also goes outside for the first time with the help and support of RoRo. It’s been less than 24 hours since female loris Nicky gave birth to twins and Alison’s been busy playing mum to one of the baby loris but its sibling also needs help. While woolly monkey Pacaja takes motherhood in her stride and Erico’s capuchin group get an autumn treat in the playroom.

It’s time for new chimp Toprish to brave the outside enclosure but she finds the great outdoors a bit of a shock, however she has her new family with her offering their support. Guenon mum Nia needs reminding she has responsibilities now that she has daughter Biff to look after and she is certainly keeping her mum busy. While the boys from Levar’s woolly group have fun with locust and the capuchins take on a snake in the grass.

Hujan, the smallest orang-utan at the park gets to meet Tuan, one of the largest. However Tuan is more interested in RoRo than checking out the little orang. Stumpie Sam has a dental check-up and his decay causes dismay, vet Holly has her work cut out with this patient. The chimp team hope Toprish will fare better on the second attempt going into the outside enclosure and the spider monkeys high tail it when they discover challenging treats in their enclosure.

Vet Caesar is called in to examine squirrel monkeys Azzi and Charlie and there’s devastating news for their carers. A hard decision has to be made for Charlie’s welfare and the team hope they can make Azzi comfortable. A spoonful of peanut butter helps the medicine go down for stumpie Sam who is recovering from his tooth operation. While it’s puzzle feeders for the chimp bachelor boys and ice lollies in the orang-utan nursery.

Marmoset Ruby gives birth and it’s a bit of a shock for the care team as it’s quads! The park doesn’t allow the marmosets to breed normally so Ruby giving birth to four babies is a real surprise. Young orang-utan Hujan braves the big enclosure in the presence of adult male, Tuan but with a little help from RoRo soon gets over his nerves. While it’s all change for the residents of the squirrel monkey house and chimp Toprish finally meets alpha male Bart face to face.

In our first Vietnam special, Alison and wildlife vet John Lewis visit the park’s sister sanctuary Dao Tien to examine two baby douc langurs, both victims of hunters. Plus the team are preparing for a gibbon release that has been three years in the making but plans change at the last minute.

In the second Vietnam special John Lewis and Marina head out from Dao Tien to take injured baby douc langur Anthony for X-rays on the mainland. Then the team head deep into the jungle for the first gibbon release in three years. But will the long awaited return to the forest for golden-cheeked Bien prove a success.

Wildlife vet John Lewis is called in to take another look at Bruce, one of the park’s two male Bengal slow loris, can he find the cause of Bruce’s lump this time? Time apart for adolescent orang-utans Silvestre and Jin, after too much rough and tumble shows they have become too mature to live together. Plus the team’s attempt to get the woollies to work for their breakfast bears fruit.

A trip to the hospital for lemurs Houdini and Whitespot, vet Dave has to x-ray Houdini’s injured arm and then remove one of Whitespot’s canine teeth. Alison’s been busy hand rearing Bobbie and is trying to persuade the baby loris to try solids but it’s not her favourite job. While chimp Naree has settled in great into life at the park Bryan is causing Jeremy and the team real concern. And chimp Kuki cottons on quick when breakfast arrives all tied up.

Brass and Evi, two of the park’s more unusual residents get a health check from wildlife vet John Lewis. Red bellied guenon baby Biff goes all out, to dine out with back up from mum Nia. While marmosets Frank and Douglas don’t seem to fancy the seasonal treat of corn on the cob, the orang-utan nursery love it with little Mimi experimenting with nest building. And golden-cheeked gibbons Kim and Tien get fresh cut cherry browse, full of ripe fruit.

Alison’s in Yorkshire with the RSPCA and police, to rescue a capuchin living in an outdoor cage, but will she be able to bring the primate back to Monkey World. While back at the park orphan orang-utan Hujan tells foster mum Ro-Ro it’s time for his milk feed and marmoset Ruby’s babies brave the outdoor enclosure. Newly rescued capuchin Chook gets a medical and her past life as a pet may have taken its toll. But there’s better news for lar gibbon Kitty who’s recovering from a mystery illness which is a massive relief for the primate care staff. While the stumpies are kept busy with logs coated in a flour and water paste, with lots of sunflower seeds attached and Bart’s chimp group think extra-large ice lollies are pretty cool.

In the last episode of the series, rescued capuchin Chook goes outside for the first time with her new group. While hand reared baby loris Bobbi gets ready to graduate into the loris complex. The Malagasy lemur enclosure has had a revamp to keep the troop interested and Hananya’s chimps have a massive lucky dip for their breakfast.
